J4J Program

What is the J4J program? I have seen a few guys at Republic who are part of that program. How does it work and how does it affect my seniority?

It is a program to give pilot positions to furloughed US Airways guys in return for RAH getting aircraft to fly for US Airways. Something like 50% of the seats on the new aircraft are to be filled by J4J guys (although the company indicates that the pool has now run dry). So, I guess you work or are going to work at RAH? As far as affecting your seniority, how long have you been at here?

I wouldn't worry about it much! I believe most of those guys will be back at US Airways mainline by the middle of the summer!

if you are not on the property yet it won't affect you at all. you will be junior to all of them.

most of the j4j at republic won't be back by this summer. only a few 3 or 5 have been released and are back and several are released for May. The rest either bypassed (meaning they still have a hold to go if they return) or are in some part of their 8 month hold if they have already accepted. depending on how the u/awa integration goes i wouldn't expect the last j4j to leave the rah or pas property until sometime in the summer of 2008 (alittle over a year from now).

I dunno Lear...:erm: ...I got my letter of intent from EB this week. If I got one, you did, too. 26 FO E190 positions and 164 Group I/II positions. You could be there (If you wanted it) by the end of the year....from what I'm hearing.

Found out today you could bypass the E190 indefinitely, though.

Yes i got it. If they do call us/me for one of the 26 spots then I'd bet I wouldn't have a training date until fall. Then rep will hold us/me from the fall class date so I wouldn't expect to see the 190 until this time next year. Who knows.
