now its official, company has backed off the bypass memo.

while some damage has been done, I finally see why i pay union dues.

The good guys finally won one, great job union-stay unified.

Im glad to hear that..now pass this along to the skywest pilots maybe they will wise up and join alpa.

Hey, BusDriver12, is that from the "pilot" memo mentioned in the weekly letter?

Good news for you guys.

...but we are confident we would win in court and reserve the right to cancel your vacation in the future if people don't sell back their vacation.

What Would Jesus Do to Staff the Airline, Mr. Bedford?

something interesting.

Skywest has cancelled complete weeks of vacation for pilots in the past. its actually a regular occurance.

last time was over the week of JAN 1 2007.

CEO sent a letter to pilots on the company website stating bypass is not happening.....amongst other BS...

Im not a union kind of guy but i think they came up big with this one, without it I dont know where we would be...

Except for that class they already filled with bypass selected pilots.

While the one class seems to still be going on, have patience for our reps to work it out. Nothing can make up for the QOL improvements lost by many, but I have faith that our reps are pushing for what is right. Either way, nothing is going to happen on Easter weekend with pastor bedford tending to his flock on the homefront.

Did you read his weekly letter to the faithful - he seems to be referencing the pilots:

Forgive those who trespass against you.
Those of you gaining the necessary skills here .... moving on .... stewardship.... etc
Coupled with his discrete reference to returning to operational excellence (reference pilot memo)

I think that BB knows we are gaining leverage - shortage of pilots/expansion/fewer J4J guys/pissed off pilot group - it's showing up in the numbers already!!!

It's not over yet.

Can someone give me the Cliff Notes version of what happened?

CHQ put out a memo that they were going to Bypass certain people for upgrades. They were only going to allow E145 FO's upgrade to E170 CA. They would in effect be bypassing senior E145 CA's and E170FO's that could have held captain. A good example would be United taking all their B737 FO's and making them B747-400CA's to reduce training costs. Needless to say it caused a lot of outrage among the pilot group. Tons of grievances filed and lots of talk of job actions(not sanctioned and strongly discouraged by the union MEC) if it went down. After a meeting about a week ago with our MEC and management, it was rescinded.

This guy's Christianity seems to be of the same variety as those Southern Baptists who found justification for slavery, and later Jim Crow, in the Bible. Nice! Sorry for your luck in management CHQ. But then again, I'm sorry for most regional pilot's luck in management scum!:puke:
