The meeting went well but of course we won't hear anything for awhile. I'm sure there will be an email sent out tonight or early tomorrow.

There won't be any significant announcements yet over a possible release. Management is to meet with the NMB on the 14th. I am thinking that is the earliest any pertinent information will be shared with us.

Makes Sense. How can ALPA give us any "Real" news when they have to wait and see what happens on the 14th from the NMB. Be Patient!!

I think after the meeting with the company on the 11th. The NMB will say that they are assigining a few more dates to meet between parites. If nothing is hacked out, then they will release the pilot group for the cooling period and supermediated talks where the contract will be settled. Delta wont let us strike. Contract around June or July...hopefully...and with retro!

I'll tell you what. Until I read Bryan's memo on negotiations, I thought we had no chance of a release. But his memo makes him sound worried, hurriedly trying to explain the situation to the non-union employees. Maybe he knows something is coming that we don't?

Funny, I thought the same thing when I was reading it. Perhaps management has already heard something from the NMB. Of course, come June 1, the only non-union employees we will have will be the mechanics and the monkeys at the G.O., so there will be a lot less 'splainin' to do...........

Mechanics down in MCN are quiting ASA to take a job at the air base for less pay! It's mostly a morale problem down there with poor management responsible for it. Have also heard some are quiting in ATL too, going to DAL and Air Tran.

ASA MisManagement
Bringing Up The Rear In All Categories!
But Pay Them Their Bonuses for Meeting "completion factor" !
Delta, you watching all this going on at ASA?

I was in MCN last week, and was told the mechanics are leaving for the air base because they don't want to transfer to ATL or other ASA mtc stations, and positions are being cut in MCN.

Let's just say the work schedule and maint mgt are the real reasons, because they are. Next time you're down there, ask some of the ones who have been there awhile.

The one I talked to has been in MCN for 8 years. But I agree that the work schedule and mgt suck there as bad as they do here.

The guys in MCN were working 4 10 hour shifts then management decided that after 8 hours they were inefficient (I guess that doesn't apply to pilots), so they changed it to 5 8hour shifts. A short time later they started to lose a lot of guys and they are now working 6 12 hour shifts!! So much for not being good after 8 hours!

I went down to MCN yesterday to pick up 867, and this is exactly what I was told by a few mechanics there. They are not fond of their manager there for sure, and for not listening to the front line people (sound familar pilots?). Most are leaving because of this manager, for lower-paying jobs at Robins AFB!
