Does UPS require 1000TPIC?
If you were rated in a B747-400 would it make a difference?

You need 1000 hours pic either turbojet, turbo prop, or both combined. Go to www.airlinepilotcentral.com and then click on airline profiles Cargo or www.UPS.com they have all the info you will need. Good luck!

I specially asked UPS HR at a conference if the 1000 PIC minimums is a hard number. The officially answer "YES". They do not waive it. (OK maybe if you know the CEO.)

A friend of mine is typed in the MD-11 and B757/767 and does not have the 1000 PIC, thus can not apply to UPS.

How do I know if my app is the good one or the junk one? I applied in Jan and found the application under "Second Officer Louisville" It took all my info etc.

I searched the thread and there didn't seem to be any real answers, could easily be my weak internet skill though.

With the new application process, you can't even put your application in unless you check the box that asks you if you have 1000 PIC Turbine.

Yes, they will not waive it.

My friend flies MD11s at Gemini (he's an FO) but he left his previous airline with ~850 hours of part 121 pic time. At the time he thought he’d be furloughed anyway so he left to fly heavies instead. He has 4 line pilot and 2 mgmt recommendations. A few months ago he went to a job fair hoping that his recommendations and his heavy, international experience would help him “by-pass” the 1,000 hour PIC requirement. He was told that although they like his international experience he will need an additional 150 hours of PIC time no matter what.

So he’s looking into some kind of part time gig where he can fly turboprops in the left seat while he is maintaining his other job.

I recieved an email yesterday from UPS HR to go online and take the time to complete their to Questionair's. I do not have 1000 hours of PIC time. My app has been in for about 6 months. Why would they have sent me this email if they know I don't have the time?
