This just in.....

"Not my notes, just passing the word......

747-400 - parking 4
747-200 - parking 3
DC-9 = parking 33
A319 - parking 19

adding 8 787 and 8 330, net loss of 43 planes

or even better 30-DC9 and 19 A319 = approx 5986 seats, 76 76 seaters = 5776 seats "we don't think NWA will do that," "We need the lift"

According to Rainey, NWA plans to eliminate numerous A319s
and DC-9s by the end of 2008 due to lease negotiations. He
says that no furloughs and no displacements will result.
Attrition will fix that problem. ???? What to bet???

Also said ALL furloughed pilots will be offered a job by
July, 2007. They plan to start-up the HR department in Flt.
Ops. in Q4 of 2007, and could begin hiring new pilots in
2008.

>
Bottom Line
We are headed towards a total of 4000 pilots by end of 2008.
While Compass, Mesaba, and Pinnacle thrive and grow."

What was that, Mesaba thrive??? Grow??? Compass grow??... They have 1 plane and the big question is how many times a week do they fly it?? Mesaba thrive.... I have to ask, were you laughing when you typed that?? in the past 13 months mesaba has lost 13 340's, 35 avro's and 1 CRJ.... I would hardly call that thrive and grow.....

I told you guys this a month ago....did you not believe me?

Mainline folks are upset because he will be flying crjs soon. When management said you wouldn't be out of a job, they didn't specify what type of aircraft you would be flying or who would sign your check. You mainline folks did this to yourselves, this is just the fall out. Just let the fact that the senior folks will retain their pensions comfort you as you start flying to Akron Ohio. Sometimes karma can be painful.

Here's a more accurate report:

NWA is parking all aircraft*! For real! They will all be parked and there is nothing anybody can do to stop it!

COMMENCE PANIC!

Or...as an alternative, listen more carefully when fleet plans are being presented.

The parts about "when" the aircraft will be parked, or "what circumstances" could alter the plan were interesting too.

But they make lousy headlines...

It's ironic that pilots who absolutely refuse to believe anything and everything that our managment tells us, would take a presentation like this as the unimpeachable Word of Yahweh.

Ironic...and amusing.

Happy ulcers, y'all!

(jetflier...when you're done breathing into that paper bag, give me a call. You still have my number, right? If not, PM.)

* Every airliner will be parked at some point. They aren't as durable as irrational panic, and plutonium, which share a similar half-life.

They are probably going to get rid of the -9's and short buses and replace them at Compass. But dont worry you wil all be offered positions at Compass at the B-scale rate. What a crock of shizzle!

And where di you get this information from, I have to question it because in the same post you wrote Mesaba thrives, this makes it seem a lot less credible.

Occam,

For those of us that don't have your #, please fill us in. For us in the middle we see nothing but backwards movement or at best stagnation in our future. It is very hard to have a positive outlook at this airline. It appears they have absolutly no intention of growing the mainline. Most other carriers are expanding/hiring and the long term goal of nwa looks to shrink and outsource.

Did you forget that you guys voted for that piece of s... contract that you have now. Your senior folks sold you out. Go whine to them. If you think Pinnacle is thriving you should walk a 4 day in our shoes. Then you'll really know what bad is!!

You mean I shouldn't believe that coffee mug that said "Simply the Best!" ??? :bomb:

Ha, well you have to give them some credit...it doesn't say "Simply the Best" at anything in specific!! It could be any number of things:

Misconnecting passengers
Leaving without any of the valet bags
Losing your luggage
Cancelling your flight because there isn't a crew
Delaying your flight because of "required crew rest"
Pulling up at the gate early and then blocking in 45 mins late.....

At the rate we're going now, we could be "Simply the Best" at being the worst!! Smart guys down there in Noncomprehenda land!!

Heyas CA,

You have to forgive Occam...he still has Stockholm Syndrome from associating with all those RB MSP guys that ran the show for so many years.

He's not all that senior. It amazes me that he still doesn't realize that he's not part of "the club", and that his job got sold out the same way everyone else's did.

It's pretty safe to say that with the exception of SEA and ANC, no one that had anything to do with this pile of sh!t contract will ever hold an elected position again.

By thriving, I dont think he was commenting on quality of service or qol for employees. 9E seems to be doing the best these days asside from those two topics....which you would think should be somewhat important. CYA

Now THAT'S what the mug should have said about "Simply the Best!" :)

When they start hiring in '08 will it be into mainline (DC9/A320) or Compass?

Who ever came up with a name of "Compass" Airlines?

How long before Pinnacle changes its name to Binnacle Airlines?

Yikes! Hull breach!

You need to do my reading of history, laddie. You're waaaaaay off the mark on that one!

He's not all that senior. It amazes me that he still doesn't realize that he's not part of "the club", and that his job got sold out the same way everyone else's did.

Correct! I am not part of the "Waaaa! I'm a victim! - club".

Lemme axe you a couple of questions to guage your SA:

1. Do you believe everything you hear from NWA management while we're actively negotiating with them?
2. Are you interested in sending me your checking account number so my friends from Nigeria can deposit $25-million in your account?

It's pretty safe to say that with the exception of SEA and ANC, no one that had anything to do with this pile of sh!t contract will ever hold an elected position again.

C'mon! Take a pill.

The issue has nothing to do with elected office. It's the fleet plan. If you've got some input on that, let's hear it. If you just wanna pi$$ and moan, start another thread.
