Looks like the Spring of Love may be upon Peenuckle....

With contract negotiations in full swing the company is offering 150% to drivers to pick up open time due to the companies woefully inadequate staffing model.... Next month is significantly under staffed. Seems current conditions of indentured servitude are driving many to places that repsect and trust thier professionals.... and/or at least pay better with better work rules...

150%? That is pocket change to many gear guys and not much more to driver in commands. What is needed is a real contract and respect. Does 150% buy off professionals....???

So...help em out and pick up or shall they figure it out on their own???

Attrition is killing us at 9E. Many cancellations lately and many more coming for march. Between stalled negotiations, lies from management and colgan, pilots are leaving FAST. Way more than I have seen in the last 9 months. And this is just when we need pilots the most. I have heard rumors that negotiations are moving along well recently. This would be a big step in repairing the damage done from the way this company has been run.

150% is not enough. It would be if we were paid fairly to begin with, but we are not.

Too management, you have some catching up to do with this pilot group before we will give you the extra mile our pilots have given in the past.

For sh!ts and giggles, anybody want to share the union's opener? I'm curious to see what kind of workrules & compensation you folks are shooting for and rightfully deserve. PM if ya want...

As an outsider, just curious as to what kind of attrition numbers Pinnacle is seeing?

How many F/Os and Capts leaving per month?

Also, how has the hiring been going? I know PNCL came to Allatps and hired a bunch of pilots (maybe 30 or so) for Jan and Feb, but other than that, what kind of hiring is Pinnacle seeing these days?

For example, two classes a month? One class/month? Size? 20, 30 per class?

From what I have heard they are trying to do 2 classes a month at 30 each...and also 2 upgrade classes a month at 12 each...those sizes will increase if they can find more sim time

To be honest, we have not been told what the unions proposal is. Only that it is a BIG improvement, but still very doable by the company. I have wondered what the unions propasal would be. I do support them 150%.

As too hiring, I have not been to the schoolhouse in quite awhile. I think they are doing two classes of 30 a month for new hires and 24 a month for upgrades. Upgrades will be below 24 mos. very soon.

If anyone comes here, movement will be very fast. Maybe this will finally be the catalyst for management to get our contract done. Like I said, it is rumored to be finally moving along.

I am sure others that know more will chime in.

60 a month?! Are they really tring to hire 720 pilots this year???

And why that many? Just to replace attrition? Or some growth? As far as growth goes, didn't the 15 CRJs come back, and now just two more remain to be delivered?

But that's Colgan Air side of the operations... with Continental.

Pinnacle Airlines, itself, is still only with Northwest isn't it?

Guys, People are FLYING out the door. And the reason is management.

When management comes to the MEC a year ago and asked for scope relief and the MEC said "we don't think so", then they go ahead and BUY another airline anyway? Why do you think they are leaving?

People are leaving to every corner of aviation at this point. Fedex, Southwest, Netjets, Emirates, ANA, Gemini Cargo, Delta, etc, etc....

Phil only has to look at how he's run this company to wonder why people are trying to bail out of here so fast.

And the union never wanted to put out an opening proposal. That's what management wanted so they could low ball us. We have held steady to negotiate one section at a time, exactly what the company has not wanted to do. No need in showing all your cards at once. Excellent move.

As of today that is correct...but will probably change in the near future...as of right now it is just a rumor

I also just got word that they will begin using the CRJ-200 sim in Germany...pretty sure that will be for new hires...so the class sizes may be getting even larger

It is so bad here that they can't even run a full class of OE check airmen because they can't afford to take those guys off the line.

So you have less check airman to help with the new hires because these guys have been blasting out the door, but you can't train any new check airman because we are so short. It's a catch 22.

I've had a few people (from Flight Safety Academy and Allatps) tell me that apparently, Pinnacle is trying to standardize their jetbridge programs to require at least 400TT for newbies (up from just a Comm/Inst/ME with 250 hours). Any truth to that? And also, that they are trying to reduce capt upgrade times to 1800TT? (which is hard to believe).

They where toying with the Idea of lowering the upgrade time but decided against it. It sits at 3000 with 500 hours in company, or 3500 total. They DO have the waiver for less than the 250 hours PIC.
