I should of been a drug dealer.
Maybe we should be talking about transportability of seniority??? Do you really expect people to give up $80,000 - $102,000 per year and 15-18 days off a month for "the profession" and other people? Get real - it won't happen if we can't make lateral moves like EVERY OTHER PROFESSION..... If CMR pilots were doctors, lawyers, accountants, engineers, or any other profession, they could simply leave and go to work for another company. However you won't see many give up what they have to start over at $20,000 and 10 days off.... Sorry but that is reality........
Comair is being punished because they had the highest costs in the portfolio and they went on an 89 day strike... Delta isn't going to allow that to happen again and they just "trumped" ALPA.... the question is does ALPA realize that they have been "trumped"...... What is ALPA's next move??? Any of you ALPA cheerleaders want to throw us sceptics a bone????
If pilots keep bending over for these cuts, they are going to be at "$20000 and 10 days off" eventually anyways. For a company that is making $$$ to impose pay cuts is absurd.

ALPA is doing what they do best...nothing. Sorry CMR pilots have to endure it.
ALPA is doing what they do best.... taking 1.95% of our pay while convincing us that it is going to a good purpose....
It is!! Don't you enjoy your 1200.00 dollar a year magazine???
Really? Says who?? Wife makes $80,000 a year as a pediatrician, but is finding it very difficult to find a similar paying job in one of three places we are looking at moving to. Look for another excuse.Maybe we should be talking about transportability of seniority??? Does anybody have any details on the TA yet?
Nothing yet. Only rumors.
Hey, when you got no real information, rumors are good. That's what Flightinfo's all about! What you got?
The smart move is to take the paycut to live another day. In battle you do not die on your sword, you regroup and try again. People have to understand that it is responsibile to protect the membership even if it is going backwards in the short term. Are all the mainline groups who took paycuts and ALPA approval on them wrong, should all those carriers suffered further economic damage or closure?
We need to figure this out it is not about the MEC it is about the economics of the industry, before there was only a handful of operators who carried mainline pax, in regional areas. Now it is National, and competition is fierce. The old days are gone, all you need is a certificate and you are in business in six months.
Will Capt "take it back" Prater actually sign this?
ASA
Strike 'Em!
John - I love your avatar - but how can you afford "here" on a regional pilot's pay? Wife must have a great job.
PS. If the pilots approve the TA Prater will sign it. With bankruptcy and an injunction he really has no choice. The pilots have only two choices: take it or quit. The latter isn't really an option for a great many.
