About 7 years ago going into Newark I almost hit a guy on a hang glider. This was at 7000' on the arrival just north of Sparta. The guy was about 100 feet from my right wing, close enough to see his face! He is probably deaf now as we were at 250kts, level with the power up in the old DC-9!

in owens valley there are intentional flights made to 200 on a regular basis in paragliders. most take oxygen but there are some that arent smart enuff.
