Hi
In about one month, I will have the minimums for Airtran ( 2500 tt, 850 121 PIC)
I am aware that these times are not very competitive but I am still going to try and apply and also meet them at some job fair.
Has anybody heard of poeple getting hired right at the minimums?
thanks

I personally know that many people are getting hired with much LOWER experience.

I know because I am one of them. 4500 tt, > 600 121 PIC

Helps to have insiders. I have talked to many other relatively new FOs over there with even less time than me. One had 200 hours of 121 PIC.

Networking. Its the key to everything. Try every way you can to get a letter from the inside, and include letters from the outside in your resume packet. I hear AAI likes letters. I had one insider and two checkairmen from my current job.

Good luck.

Hmmm haven't flown with anyone with that kinda time?... But good luck to all...it is a decent place to work !

Try to get your recommendation sources to introduce you to a certain chief pilot TL. He works the job fairs and loves to hear eager people wanting to fly. I believe we are having some FOs already being lured to Delta and their higher payrates. Good luck, flight time is only a number, 2 of my friends have already interviewed at Delta with < 800 121 PIC b/c they knew some one.

thanks for the answers.
I already exceed the 121 pic requirement but what about the total time?
Has there been any guys hired with around 2500 total time?

A friend in my unit interviewed this week with no 121 time and only 700 hours Turbine PIC. He said Air Tran needs pilots fast. The next class is going to be 29 people and it is not filled yet. Good luck!

Have you applied to Delta now that they are hiring? Just curious since I know 3 people who are junior to me who are now trying to leave. Sorry I was not able to answer the 2500 question but ask your source to check with the training dept or make a call to Orlando. Your 2500 might make you stand out enough to get hired if it is indeed considered low time. The main thing is do not wait for the normal apply and get hired, they are flooded with resumes. Verify with your sources they are actively walking your updates in. Be sure to reward your sources b/c it is work to constantly bug people in the hiring dept and convince them that your buddy should be called before the next guy/girl in a stack of 1,000s of resumes.
