ASA, jumpseat to/from Canada?

Can off line jumpseaters jumpseat to/from Canada assuming there is a seat open in back? Thanks.

If there's a seat open in the back, sure. Unfortunately we cannot carry you in the jumpseat to an international destination.

Not true, I had a Delta jumpseater riding up front comming from YYZ a couple weeks ago.

We were told by Canadian officials as such, we tried to get somebody on and were told no. Even the FAA was trying to go from YYZ-DCA and he had to ride in the back.

According to the Company, the Jumpseat, whether cockpit or cabin, is not available on ANY International flights. The issues stated had to do with TSA and some software issue that the Company refuses to pay to correct. It has to do with advance notification to TSA. No Company pilot is allowed to jumpseat either on international flight.

Some stupid B$ TSA rule. At Comair, we can j/s by calling our schedulers and getting on some stupid TSA list that has to go out at midnight the day before. We can take any qualified j/s'er in the back, though.

Thing is...our own daaam pilots have to jump through all these hoops, yet the feds and leos that are authorized j/s can ride whenever!

Just another stupid dog-and-pony show by the glorious TSA!

Just to clarify, offliners w/agreements can jumpseat in and out of Canada on ASA/Comair as long as a seat is open in the back and on the Comair jumpseat if listed the day before. Can anyone post the number to list?

This is as it was when I worked there. It seems in practice there may be some inconsistancy. I guess I'll have to try and find out.

On Comair only if you're a Comair pilot. All other recipricols in the back in an available seat. If you're OH, you need to contact a scheduling coordinator sometime the day before to list. Gotta love the non-rev/security fee payroll-deducted when leaving Canada, too :\ Somewhere around $17 or so.

Usually MX inspectors, checking on contract MX. I've had them on the jumpseat to/from YLW.

At QX, effective 12/06, operationally necessary deadheading crewmembers and authorized maintenance personnel can jumpseat to and fro the great frozen north if the booking is done by screw scheduling, so it will probably get fouled up and won't work.
