I know that they have announced 10. There will be more orders most likely for the 37,77, and the 87 after they exit. IMHO

We apparently will be getting 5 more within the next 3 years, and there are some options that could be exercized too. I think 2 of the 777s will be LR versions, that can hit Shanghai nonstop from ATL. (Unless USAir gets the authority and starts 5 stop service starting in Ashville, NC with one of their 737-400s.....?) I have heard there could be 11 options. That still won't put us close to the number United, American, and CAL have, but we do have plenty more 767s (764s and 767-300ERs) than they do. Also, expect a 787 order (through lessors that already have them coming) and more 737-700s and possibly 737-900s to be ordered too upon exit of BK.

Bye Bye--General Lee

I heard they were going to be used to beef up the ATL-JAX market (hurting for seats since the L10's got parked... ;) ). TC

We must be firmly entrenched in another Delta hiring boom.

Love the trash talk General, keep it up.

Good luck DL guys and gals...having to start paying your bills again with your same management group still in place, things should be interesting.

Shows how little you know about Delta. Very, very few of our senior management people are the same.

I feel perfectly comfortable coming out of BK with the current management team in place.

Is this the same management team that thought D-8's in JFK would make your customers happy? Thanks for all of your former customers over at T-6 by the way. Once again, good luck once BK is done...

D-8s were never about making the customer happy. They were about throwing some slower airplanes in the mix during big push times for JetBlue.
Exactly the mentality I'm talking about. Your 75's and 6's didn't sit and burn gas as well? Oh, that's right, fuel doesn't matter in BK.

Thanks and good luck to you all and those payrates of yours. May be in the future you all can do something positive for the profession.

Our pay will be just fine in due time. Remember, we are only seven years old. Your management should have learned from AA a long time ago. Protect your main hub, and don't stretch yourself too thin fighting the battle on too many fronts. Unfortunatley for you, Airtran is already in your back yard, so that time has passed. We'll see how your second go in BK goes in a couple of years...

And already in trouble financially.....Taking seats out of a/c. returning a/c. Labor strife w/ regards to pay on the 190. Remember the saying about people in glass houses?

Its kind of difficult when you have airlines like yours who cherry pick routes, and leave the smaller sized markets out!

And we'll see how your liquidation goes. Lets see how your airline does in 75 years let alone if anyone remembers them......

HomerJ:

You probably don't want to piss these guys off too much...there is a very high probability that you and I will be throwing gear for them within the next 7 years. That is of course if we are lucky, get a union, and get stapled. Otherwise, our contract effectively says something like, "please consider hiring our pilots in the event of a buyout....." I would bet my house that those who you piss off today will remember and probably quote your responses on this forum 7 years from now when we are at their mercy begging for a job!

Be careful please....

be carefull what you say and wish for, what comes around goes around. This is the aviation industry gentlemen. "expect the unexpected"

Well said. We (all airline pilots) should have some humility these days. We are all a month away from no job.

My buddies at SWA that have been there a while all cringe when I mention Neeleman. They wonder when he will sell you guys off and run.
I hope that doesnt happen as the guys I know that fly with yall are happy...and that's what matters.
