MONTREAL, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Bombardier Inc. (BBDb.TO: Quote, Profile , Research) said on Thursday it has won a $1.1-billion order from Delta Air Lines (DALRQ.PK: Quote, Profile , Research) to supply 30 CRJ900 aircraft.
Bombardier, the world's third-largest civil aircraft maker, said the contract was approved by the United States Bankruptcy Court. Exercise by Delta of options for an additional 30 CRJ900s would bring total value of the contract to $2.3 billion, Bombardier said.

Gotta love it. Cannot exit BK, only having to pay debtors pennies on the dollar, asking for paycuts from labor then they are approved this. Complete BS by any standard.

Either mainline or Comair will fly them. I would think a lease back to a DCI carrier would be too $$.
Comair is getting royally screwed so most likely they will fly them for pennies on the dollar and management can throw the mainline rates in their face and say, "see you are gettting paid well to fly these big ole jets!"

Sinca:
mainline will NOT fly them. They will probably be used as a carrot to wave in front of the cmr pilots' faces for concessions. "Hey if you take a paycut, look at these shiny new jets you can fly."

Comair pilots do not have a say in their pay now. The judge already ruled that the company can impose pay cuts and yesterday (intersting time for a Bombardier announcement) the judge ruled in favor of the company for an injunction against any pilot strike. Bankruptcy law makes unionized labor its little b%tch.

There's no need to wave a carrot in CMR's face. ASA and Skywest are the hold out. They will be shopped here.

I'd love to see Delta mainline fly them. Delta mainline should do whatever they need to get the planes on their list then work on bringing up the pay on thoes planes. No more outsourcing - contractors or WO'd. End of discussion.

I'd love to see them go to mainline as well. Can you imagine how much bitchin' we'd hear from them when they start flyin' them for that BS rate alpa negotiated? It'd sound like a huge pack of basset hounds when a police car goes by with the siren on....now that would be funny, poetic justice. Give 'em to mainline. PLEASE.

737, don't be insulted. You know he's right. Y'all shouldn't have negotiated and ratified that crap rate just to chuck darts at us. You may just have to live with it.

Ha, Ha, Ha, aint it the truth. Although the joke could be on any of us if Delta calls us wanna be's. Wouldn't it be great to fly an RJ for about $30 an hour less than ASA pays?

And theses clowns will fold, take the pay cuts and get the aircraft. IT's the Comair way! They talk tough, then they stab their fellow DCI pilots in the back! I pray these go to ASA or Skywest. Let's just let Comair die already!

ALPA negotiated and the majority voted in favor! Still a tool ohplease and embarassed that a knob like you has an Auburn avatar.

You have already proved your an idiot, comair doesn't have a choice because of the rates that asa and skywest are currently working under, that is what your judge says anyway

Sounds like the current ASA contract. One long fold...

That's a stupid thing to say. We at ASA have been standing up to them for 4.5 years. We could have folded a long time ago, but we didn't and we won't.

4.5 years, sounds like you should have started pushing the strike buttons about 1.5 years ago

Uh, ever heard of the Railway Labor Act, Einstien? We can't just "push the strike buttons" or we would have! We'd LOVE to get released, but the government won't let us.

Oh Please,

I saw your name and a short story about you, written on the bathroom wall in the crew lounge area. You should go check it out!

Is it true that you have a Delta interview coming up?
