No there were 3 comair pilots and another pilot onboard and thats how they got caught when they used up all of i believe 18LUrban legend. Leave it at that. Please.
funny how sensational some things become over time. Now there were 4 pilots oboard and everyone was fired.
Captain was down graded to FO for a year and has since returned to the left seat. Not sure what happened to the FO.
The pilots tried to get the FA to stop them from taking off. If the pilots were stupid enough to take-off with a contaminated wing they deserve everything they got and more. I heard the story first hand from the guy that stoodup in the aisle as they entered the runway and he said they rotated with less than 1500' of a 12000' runway remaining. This leads me to beleive the pilots were stupid and used a poor decision making process. At some point in a take-off roll you must know something is wrong and the machine don't want to fly.
I've heard Xpress Jet has blown through prohibited airspace a couple of times over DC.

Comair taking shots at Expressjet's safety record?
Proverb of the day:
Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Not trying to take shots we screw up all the time. these two guys said ok we'll return to the gate if you sit down then as soon as he did they rolled on the runway and took off difference from making a mistake, not following regs, show boating, they said screw the ice. their defense was the ops manual does not specify where the ice has to be not to be able to take off. common sense says any ice equals no go...
Its scary that these 2 are still flying. I understand a second chance after a mistake but this was not a mistake it was these 2 pilots being f-ups
Since you don't understand the circumstances behind the incident I think you should not judge. Knowing the facts of the case, like I do, you sound like a bigger idiot each minute.
How long till you start making Comair comments and runway configurations?
Well lets see they were told the wings were covered in ice 3 times. someone in the back made a disturbance twice just before takeoff and still took off using 98% of a long runway. Yep still think they should not be flying and yes we know the facts it got 2 cheif pilots at OH in trouble with the FAA for not reporing the problem when it was reported to them. He went to the company before he went to the FAA and WHen they didn't take action he took it further. It could of been kept quit and no one would have got in trouble but the way they acted through out hte flight aqnd on the ground in IAH is what got them in trouble And yes still think these guys should not be flying. F&ck OFF.
Seriously You need to take a deep breath and relax. This event happened along time ago and you sirr seem to still be bent out of shape about it. Move on. Fly safe!!![]()
Not bent at all as you can see when someone answered the question I said thanks all I wanted to know was wha happened to them. Now a couple of people are trying to argue that it wasn't bad and they made a little mistake, which is leading me to point to how it was not a mistake..
Samballs,
I'm glad you have all the info on what happened, or at least you think you do. I happen to know what happened and am aware of the FAA involvement and you're still wrong about the chain of events and facts. As well as the resulting action taken against the crew. But what do I expect? This is flightinfo where people can spew anything they want without being held accountable. I don't blame you. I'm sure you've never made mistakes.
