I'm sure some deserve to be canned for stupid stuff like the above mentioned rumor. However, the six year CA in IAH that was fired should not have been fired. It is much easier to get canned at XJT than it was a year ago.

Maybe thats not such a bad thing. Perhaps management finally woke up to the fact that there isn't a pilot shortage and we don't have to retain the bad apples.

I think alot of guys feel as long as they're in a union and at an airline they are "untouchable." And in our case I know we've all heard stories of guys who SHOULD have been canned and are still here. I want the company to have the option of canning bad apples, why? Cause maybe that bad apple one day makes the cover of the USA TODAY with my airline's name in bold print....great..all this apple talk has made me hungry.

That is true. Total a$$ clown from first hand info. He should have gotten fired. It is very hard to get fired here and anyone working knows well.

Part of the problem when you hire furloughed guys. Many of them come with poor attitudes and turn out to be poor employees. One of the guys fired recently was furloughed. I have also flown with several great guys from other cariers but hiring someone else's employee.....well........
