The past few days Ameriflight has had a Metro parked at KPKB. They opening a base there? I'd work for them in a heartbeat if they had bases in the midwest.

The closest base would be CVG/ILN (not the biggest AMF base), I'd imagine the Metro was a "special" for Chrismas peak season.

And no, its not for the jet snobs. But a handful none the less.

Regions Air has extremely quick upgrades, especially if you get hired now, you are almost assured an aircraft upgrade within the coming months.. ;)

Geez you kids today wanting a job with the fastest upgrade why not worry about getting a job and enoy it.
If you want PIC time when you meet 135 mins get a job hauling freight like I did starting in a 402 moving up to a MU2 in 9 months ( single pilot PIC in both and flying over 100 hrs a month) then into a Lear 25/35 for 2 years you will be ALOT better pilot then heading off to a regional now to upgrade at 1500 TT.

Please someone tell me who is upgrading pilots with ATP minimums so I never fly my family on them. Just to those who are thinking of that, get some experience and enjoy the ride. Don't worry about a quick upgrade.

With prior 121 experience Mesa is hiring street CA for the Dash-8 Delta operation back east. If you need the pic time real quick, this might be for you. If you don't need pic time, go elsewhere for a better QOF. The Dash on the United side is about 1.5 years for upgrade if you meet ATP mins.
Good luck.

Wait a second, isn't that the operation that leased a bunch of -8s and only one had GPWS. Now the operation is delayed.

Being a good pilot has nothing to do with it for many of these kids. Everything has come fairliy easily for them. They've never spent any time in a real job hating their existence. Daddy just helped pay for a degree and here they are at 500 hours sitting in a regional jet. Sadly, they will be the most bitter in a few years, no perspective on how crappy it can really be.

I guess it is true that there are not many of us around who went thru the military or a crappy frieght/traffic/ CFI type job to get to the airliners anymore.

Junior Captain awards from the latest bid:

LAX Saab 8/99
BOS EMB 4/98

Glad you're getting a good chuckle from it.

SKyWest most junior CRJ captain is in class now. He was hired 14 months ago. Like mentioned before, there are some more senior Fo's that bid for captain but don't qualify under 2500tt and 1000.

Not so sure bout that. If I had stayed there it would have taken two years to upgrade on the Beech. Even longer for the Dash. When the Dashes get online you should see quicker upgrades. But what do I know? What I will say is that the pilot group is one of the best out there. I miss the Beech. :(

Great starter airline to build time and experience! Can I get an Amen for the Naked Turtle?!?

Ive searched around and it seems to change so often. Who knows which regionals have around 1 - 1.5 upgrade times? I'm sure they would be turbo-props but I think that may be the best way to go.

Let's do the math. You have 900 (+/-) hours now and looking for an upgrade in one year...

Training (approximately 3 months) = 0 hours
3-6 months reserve (average) @ 60 hours per month = 180-360 hours
3-6 months lineholder @ 80 hours per month = 240-480 hours

So, in one year you will have 1320-1740 hours (and will only have seen one winter and one thunderstorm season).

What makes you think you will be ready to upgrade at that point even IF you can hold Captain?

Let's not cloud the issue with the facts.

if you want PIC turbine ASAP...go 135 freight. you may hate it, you may love it, but either way you WILL get PIC. you'll need 1200 TT though.
