Just wondering who has a faster upgrade time between express jet, american eagle or air wisconsin? Also looking for any other usefull information as I try to decide which the better company out of the 3 at this point.

go with one that has a base you want to live in. Upgrade changes everyday. Might be 1 year now and 10 years next week. Plus just because someone upgraded in 2 years right now doesnt mean someone hired right now will upgrade in 2 years also. Good luck with the choices

Who has a longer upgrade, Eagle or XXX? C'mon, does a regional actually exist that has a longer upgrade than Eagle? Why even bother including them in your question, you hoser?

Why would he want to go a place where he s gonna have to be an F/O for 7 years whereas the majors are recalling all their pilots.

Upgrade at Eagle won't be seven years if American recalls all their pilots, now will it?

TODAY, Expressjet has the fastest upgrade of those three. Air Wisconsin is right around 3 years right now for junior CA TODAY. Tomorrow, next month and next year I guarantee those will be different.

Fast upgrade doesn't mean sh!t if your QOL sucks and you're living in a crashpad with 14 other twentysomething guys and eating Ramen every day because you're only making $20k a year and domiciled in a craphole town or expensive east coast city. Just my opinion, of course...

At 650 hours I would just worry about getting the job. My mom always said worry about the closest croc to the boat...you my friend are worrying about a croc in another pond. The fact that a kid with 650 will be flying an RJ makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

My Mama says that alligators are ornery because they got all them teeth and no toothbrush.

OOPS. SORRY MR. FLIGHT INFO NAZI. I will have to change that some day.

I do have my ATP, just wasnt thinking (or caring to fix it) when I filled out the silly box. I suppose you could "congrats" me on that one.., but you have yours, so you must know that it wasnt that tough to get. No Congrats needed.

Good job flying your "broken" aircraft. Or is that just some Gestapo humor?

Yep, seven year upgrade. Lets see, they did not hire anyone for almost three years after September 11th, so when the last guy upgrades from pre september 11th class upgrade will drop three years. Then we are losing 340 CA's to AA over the next two years, not to mention attrition. So you are right, I would say seven years is reasonable.
By the way, when I see a company with a long upgrade to me that says one thing, and that is that it is a desirable place to work, and that is why people stick around.
Dont choose an employer based on where they are at today, instead choose one based on where they are going tomorrow.

No, it just means that the next 380 or so newly hired F/O's will have to stagnate after the 380 or so senior F/O's upgrade to Captain. Really quite simple...

LOL. You can upgrade at Air Wiskey and then at XJT before you'll see left seat of a prop at Eagle. Try 'em both.....then if you wanna live in an Eagle domicile come on over, it's a pretty good job upgrade notwithstanding!

throw up in your mouth? that was awesome.... he is worried about upgrade shortest..... how does he know he will even be ready to upgrade. You want to throw up in your mouth a lot?...... a lot of these new pilots will be getting their first real PIC when they upgrade.

I hope you are right. I have a friend working at AE.

the point I was trying to make, though, is that there is nothing wrong in asking about upgrade time even if you only have 650 hours.
