As of Wednesday, January 4, 2007, the recovery efforts following the Christmas Day tornado are ahead of schedule. Damage assessments have being made, aggressive cleanup efforts are underway and rebuilding plans are in place.
Although the University is well insured, President Dr. John Johnson estimated that the total damage to the University is between $50 - 60 million. This estimate includes the 40 airplanes that were destroyed and 10 that were damaged.
We have received many emails and phone calls from alumni voicing concern and wanting to help both physically and financially. We appreciate your willingness to help, and in response, have established the "Rebuilding Fund." By making a contribution to this fund, your support will be used in the recovery effort.
"We are very proud of our Embry-Riddle family members who have stepped up to offer their assistance and support," said University President Dr. John Johnson.
Those who would like to make an online gift in support of the "Rebuilding Fund" can use the Embry-Riddle Online Giving Form.
