This IS a fun place to work, where the men are men, fly Beeches, and enjoy steaming cups of shut the hell up

reading that makes me feel good and excited to start training

You should be excited dude. Balling around the NE or Texas in a turboprop is a blast, unless you fly with that Beech Balls fella. Plus a Colganoscopy once in a while puts some hair on your virgin chest.

Colgan till I die. I'm a lifer. Arrgh!

Snaab

does anyone have any idea where the new hired are going? i hear IAH and TYR are in need of FO's

Hey SNAAB, here's a special one jus' fer you, you good ole' boy you!

" Now, boooooy, lemme tell you sumpin'....this here's the way it works, these here are real cowboy boots. the only reason I ain't wearin' mah spurs is cuz them TSA goobers won't lemme walk em through....that maaaght clue you into how we here at Colgan Air flah this here tin can.
Movin' on to the Captain's briefin': Where we sit in this here Beech is called a cockpit fer a reeeeson. So, ah don't wanna hear no whinin' or cribbin' of any kind. Not a peep or I'll be at yer throat toreckly. Just three things from you booooy: 'clear raaaaght, you're raaaaght, and i'll take the fat one....any questions? good.
Now, Before start Checklist....."

A classic start to a classic day at Colgan Air.....

heard there are openings in ROC, SYR, ITH, JHW to name a few (for the good old saab). maybe there are openings in texas, but i ain't there.

beech balls, i hope you scare the crap out of your nancy-boy FO....you good old boy you.

I'm no good old boy. It's just a front for flightinfo.

And george dubya needs to relax a little. Associating the Beech with retardation is the same as associating total reliance on autopilots with flying a saab.

My plane is better than your airplane, My plane is better than your airplane, My plane is better than your airplane, My plane is better than your airplane, My plane is better than your airplane, HAHAHAHAHA O YEAH UMMMMM My plane is better than your airplane My plane is better than your airplane My plane is better than your airplane My plane is better than your airplane My plane is better than your airplane,

Probably why upgrades are at 50% and transitions at 100%

Why do beech pilots transition to the saab. All i ever hear about is how crappy the saab is and how lame the pilots are.

because they are tired of taking water from our planes, tired of having to apologize to ever person who walks out and sees that thing (we only have to apologize to every other one), tired of briefing the passengers, tired of having big prop envy, and they want to show just how incapable they are at flying the SAAB. Only two Beech Captains to date can fly the SAAB well.
I dont need an ILS or autopilot...... when I fly the clouds part and the air smoothes cause it knows better. Damn I love pissing people off.

Beech guys want to go to the Saab for these reasons: 1.) You get paid more to do less work. 2.) Slower plane, with more per hour = way bigger paycheck 3.) there is someone else to fetch your drinks 4.) saab guys don't have to endure the monthly ritual of having a passenger take a dump or piss in the barf-bag while holding over preno intersection.........=)

And don't forget the never-ending (and incorrect) rumor that we're doing away with the Beeches. I think some people actually believe it and think we'll be out of work some day unless we transition to the Saab. Oh yeah, and don't forget that the Saab guys will get first dibs on the Q400's when they get here.

it's so pathetic how some people let some 'barely' decent conversations descend into childish rants about who does what better, or worse. we're all the same. we all wanna transition in order to make more money and fly bigger stuff. that's how life works for the lucky.

Actually, while I was flying the two, the SAAB always had about 5kt on the 1900 in cruise.

But the 1900 could whip the SAAB's ass in time-to-climb, and the SAAB couldn't overfly the Empire State Building at 5000' on a left base to Runway 4 at LGA and end up having to add power to make the runway like the Beech.

Then again, no deplaning pax on the SAAB ever asked me if my plane had ever "flown the Hump"!

Ahhhh, memories!

Mr Wu We Love You!
Keep em flying man, and the 50% pass rate joke was funny! You are the best pilot ever man! Wow! !!

A) In two years TWO, thats right TWO Beech FOs have failed upgrade training.

B) In ONE Saab upgrade class there were three that failed. I wonder how many Saab FOs have failed in the past two years?

Guys that have transitioned have come back to tell us that the Saab FOs love to put the autopilot on as soon as possible and take it off at the last minute.

It cracks me up to hear you guys piss and moan.

At least you have an autopilot to do those repo flights at 2AM after a 12 hour duty day!

Remember that day Kaman?

What's going to happen to the Colgan threads if they get rid of the Beech? Argue about whether the "A" model flies best? My props climb better than your props! At least we'll still have the scheduling department to rip on.
