I noticed SkyWest and Comair have a min age of 21 listed as requirements. Does anyone know if they actually stick to this? I'm 20 now, and that is the only requirement I don't currently meet to apply to either company. I know of a girl who got hired at Eagle a few years back at 20.

Give it a shot man! When do you turn 21? If its only like 6 months from now and you have your app in with them you might be getting a call on your B-day!

P.S. It never hurts to try!

Heck yeah man, go ahead and apply. I "accidentally" applied to Eagle a couple weeks ago and they called the next day for an interview. They must be desperate, so maybe they'll let it slide? :)

Maybe you should go fly some freight and get some real experience. Then go to a regional. Do you meet the 135 mins?

I think that he got his "real experience" flying a Saab for a few years before getting the boot from the Red Tail good ole boys club.

SkyWest has hired people younger than 21 before, but I think they're doing a better job of checking to make sure you meet all the requirements including age 21. They might interview people younger than 21, but they won't intentionally let an applicant into class until their 21st birthday.

rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrun awwwwwwwwwwwwway nnnnnnnnnnnnow

while you are young!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only requirement is if you want to work for $19 bucks an hour and a 12lb turkey!

Apply everywhere immediately. Some airlines require your app to be on file for a period of time before they will call to interview. That on top of processing times, schedules, contact times, etc...even a year is not a lot of time.

In other words, GET ON IT!

good luck.

I didn't mean to imply I was under 21. It just seems that some of the regionals are getting desperate, so maybe they won't care if he's slightly under an age limit.

Consider college if you dont have a degree. If ya got one. Let 'er rip. Get left seat in something that's turbine for a couple years, then get a cush job to watch your hours accumulate

It doesn't matter. Apply anyway. It shows desire to go get the job. You can use it in the interview.

Example: "I wanted to work here so bad I applied before I had the minimums..."

Trust me I used to interview people, it carries weight, shows initiative, and demonstrates a positive attitude. SWA asks some applicants, "How long have you had your application on file with us?". If you can say, "since before I could drive", you are going to impress them.

If the airline/business doesn't accept apps below mins then just apply later.

Have at it.
Go forth and prosper.
