Looks like they were trying to get to rhinelander, WI, weather is nasty up there, 1/4mi and ovc001, held and came back to MSP

Maybe they got lost and circled until they found a wather tower they recognized. Probably followed a highway back. That's what I do when I get lost. Sometimes a passenger will recognize the area, so you want to make sure to make an announcement. Now that's CRM!

How do you guys find these? Sit around on flightware punching in random codes?

Just punch in an airport that has really crappy weather and you are bound to find something interesting.

I know, I have too much time on my hands.

Looks like they're having some fun.

Yup, just like the B757 boys who landed on the taxiway! (in that case, they were simply VERY VERY lucky!)

What I find astounding on this board is how everyone jumps on 'regional pilots' if any mistake or deviation from procedure is observed, but if the major airline pilots have a tail strike, land at wrong airport, or on a taxiway...hey, let's not say anything about 'them' becausee one we we want to be 'them'.

Amazing!

Type ORD in teh dtination then ORD in the arrival..it will bring up any flight that did that. Same with any airport you wish.

I just happened to fly the SAAB their after 9E couldnt get in. They were unable to get in because a few minutes earlier the snow plow took out a section of runway lights. When we headed over there the lights were notamed OTS, we had to get cinfirmation they had already been repaired. ATC was telling us the whole story. The gate agents were pissed because the CRJ flight was full and it would be atleast 5 days before they had any open seats to get any of them out. Small world....
