I had heard from within(I didn't apply) that within 2 hours of the announcement they had recieved 500 resumes. I'm sure it's increased exponentially since.

I'd be surprised if they were still accepting applications. I imagine the response was overwhelming. All I received was an e-letter thanking me for my app. Good luck to all.

Not quite. Just under 500 apps within the first 24 hours. Not sure how many since then. That's from an internal DAL memo that's been floating around.

From what I've heard, the only people that can expect calls within the first 6 months of interviews starting are the people that have stacks of internal recommendations. If you only know a few people at Delta, then expect to wait until the "chosen few" get their chance first. If you don't have any internal recs, then plan on waiting for an eternity.

then plan on waiting for an eternity

And maybe after an eternity their payscales will have recovered enough to make it worth the risk in going back to the bottom of the list.

Alright, please don't hijack my thread and turn it into something about paycuts, pilots selling themselves out, etc, etc etc. All I wanted to know was if anyone had heard anything. Nothing more, nothing less. Thanks.

I heard the same thing when Delta started to hire in 96, and yet I was called within the first two weeks. I had no letters of rec. You never know.

I jumpseated on Delta Tuesday and both pilots spoke of seeing this memo but they said there had been over 4000 applicants in the first 24 hours - crazy

...remember way back when...I think there was something about big D offering preferential (sp) interviews to ASA guys...I think because ASA took on a bunch of furloughed brothers...but that may have been before the current revamped agreement.

anyone?

yeah I had 4 Delta furloughs in my class at RP and they have all been recalled. They said the Delta Connection carriers that offered them pref hiring will reciprocate when the big D starts hiring

I have heard the same. Delta pilots will be involved in the process and they have good memories. That's what I am told....
