The Q-400 is coming, and you guys are getting the flow through to mainline....haha If you are an F.O. get out as soon as you can you are wasting your time....

Thanks for that very informative post.

Interviewer: Why do you want to leave pdt and work for our airline?

Me: Somebody on Flightinfo told me to.

That sounds like a sure-in to any job I want. I can't wait to start over in a big jet for $22 dollars an hour and sit reserve!

Step away from the beer... Go to bed.

Try milk next time. Doesn't f*#k with your mind as much.

Dude I flew the Dash and you are wasting your time, that is why I left. All these guys want JET time and you aren't going to get that at Piedmont. Oh, by the way, I will be upgrading in two years, see who gets a job first when you have to wait six years at Piedmont...haha...suckers....

So tell us, dude, where is the promised land? Where did you go that you can guarantee a two year upgrade? How big of a pay cut did you take? What's the contract like there? where do you want to work that won't take T-Prop time from a dash? Just curious. I don't blame any jr FO's for bailing on pdt, the movement is little to none. I just don't think anyone at pdt needs to be told the situation, we are all well aware that 400's are a LONG way away, the flow through being recognized is questionable, and the upgrade is long. People have their reasons for staying, so go fly the jet and don't worry about us.

Wow such great advice coming from a lowtime dipsh*t like yourself.

I don't know of anyone that has had trouble leaving Piedmont for a major because of a lack of jet time. Those who want to leave do. If you worked here then you know that we are a good group of people with our reasons for staying, so why make a post like that?

It sounds like you are trying to justify leaving to yourself. If coming on an internet forum and blasting the folks you left behind makes you feel better about your decision to leave, then by all means, rationalize away.

Counting on a 2 year upgrade is silly. The upgrade time 6 years ago at Allegheny was 1 year and 10 months.

Who gets the job first, I assume you mean at the majors. Seems like those jobs are rapidly going away as dweebs line up to fly 70 and 90 seat jets for ridiculous wages. When you're still an FO because the 2 year upgrade you're sold on becomes a 6 year upgrade and there's no movement because you're flying what mainline used to fly, the folks you left behind will have upgraded and will be trying to get what few final career move jobs there are left out there. Who's the sucker?

Enjoy your jet, we're glad you left.

So which bottom feeder airline did you whOre yourself out to thowe? People wonder why the payrates in this industry are crap. Its people like you who will fly for free just to fly a jet or think they will be at mainline in 2 yrs. The pilots at Piedmont are glad scum like you are out the door. Good Day

Just faxed my notice. Heading up to La Garbage to finish my last few days, and gather my stuff out of the pad. The last couple years was nothing less than a blast. The closing of CLT sucked, but I guess you take the good with the bad. l still miss those good old days of easy flying and warm southern overnights. Well I miss overnights in general. You boys stay up. I wish the best to all Piedmonsters.

I just wasted away the beginnings of my airline career flying a prop at Piedmont. I finally got off my but and found an airline where I can build some jet time. I wonder how long I'll have to build jet time at Southwest before a major will hire me? Don't know if I'll be able to upgrade in 2 years either. Oh well, I guess I'll just throw in the towel and retire at SWA.

Often heard on PDT flightdecks...

"I am so tired of this sh*t. I can't believe I have put up with this for as long as I have. I am leaving for a better regional."

-quote from a six month to one year PDT FO.

Gimme a break. Do what makes you happy, but stop acting like a bunch wussies that are entitled to so much more. Think you can do better elsewhere? Good on you, go do it. Many of us are on or second or third regionals. But quit the incessant complaining, you sound stupid. You haven't really been around long enough to know what bad or good really is.

Aren't you at TSA?

Agreed. I bailed after a year and a half, and I don't regret for a second that I did. However, I rarely complained when I was there, even though I had plenty to complain about, especially in retrospect. In fact, the only people who knew I was leaving were the captain and FA I flew my last trip with, plus my close friends. And frankly, they didn't even know I was looking to get out until I finally did.

Oh, kraka please!!!! I am kicking myself for bailing, I can put up with questionable scheduling and the like for the crews we worked with, good times!

Oh, kraka please!!!!

Now don't you start with me, punk! "Questionable scheduling"? Bite me. I average 25 nights a month at home (this month it's 27, since I traded to get Tuesday-Saturday off for Turkey Day). How about you? Scuttlebutt was that you were close to getting every night at home. I also credit 40% more than I block. Oh, and I actually prefer this pilot group to the one I used to know.

But hey, call up JB and beg him to be let back if you miss it so dam much. I hear they're still losing 20 FOs a month. :angryfire

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to hop on the computer and do some trading. These four-leg trips are killing me!

I got shafted on the home every night thing, go figure! Current gig ain't bad, great group of folks, but the threat of furlough is over my head every turn I make, go figure!!!!! Can't make money hauling 90,000 #s of freight with airplanes that have lease payments under 100K a month, of course I failed BVED!
