Now that Mesaba has followed NorthWest footsteps and secured its growth. How long do you think it will be before Pinnacle loses some more planes and files for BK? I would say in less than 6 months!

Mark my words, Pinnacle is next. They will see a reduction of flying as XJ begins taking their flying with the new aircraft. They will not have any growth until they have a new contract and negotiations are complete. That is plain and simple. There is no way 9E is going to escape the wrath and judgement of it's father Doug S. The belt is coming out shortly.

Pilot contract and negotiations have nothing to do with Pinnacle not getting any growth..Thats PLAIN and SIMPLE.

I disagree. We will see shortly I guess. Sad truth is that XJ new TA is still better than ours. Which takes the pressure off us.

I would like to believe that you are right. And you might be.....if you totally ignore past history in how NWA works the airlinks against each other. You do realize that not too long ago XJ had more than 1100 pilots and >110 aircraft while 9E was down to the neighborhood of 150 pilots and a handfull of saabs.....right? Prior to that both airlines were in the neighborhood of 500 pilots and approx 50 aircraft each. Then the whipsaw went into motion, just happens to occur during opposite contract cycles. I hope it doesn't happen again, but then again maybe we could learn from the past.

On that note, it would be nice if in our 9E contract under negotiations that we agree to an amendable date that matches XJ.

That in itself could probably be the biggest improvement that either group could get. If we had the ability to both potentially strike at the same time, NWA might actually have to negotiate (oops I meant our management teams) in good faith. Or both would fold and be outsourced.

Y'all are forgetting the Compass operation. Anybody have any ideas about that.
It's more expensive than mesaba and pinnacle. Only way that airline makes sense is if it gets the mainline 195s as well.

Aigheee....that comment about getting out the belt brings back scary flashback...I was a kid back in the day, when a Dad could really do that!
The hand on the buckle was usually sufficient to correct behavior.
Now, you'd be thrown in jail, after your kid calls the police, which the school system tells them to do!!

If 9E can get a deal this next year, we just may have concurrent amendable dates. Ours starts this Dec. 1, for 5.5 years, probably.
