where will the CRJ's go and when will NWA announce where they will go? why would they wait so long? any ideas?

I have also heard the 30th. My guess on the wait is incentive (or not) for our fellow XJers who have the privelege of voting.

yeah i have heard talk in the crew rooms about the 30th date, but i have done search after search to somehow confirm that rumor, but there is no press release about a 30th release date. I think that date came about because somehow people are sure that when our TA passes, and i am sure it will pass by even more of a margin than the last one, NWA will announce aircraft. at least thats what most want.

Well my jaded opinion from a 21.5 year pinnacle pilot. NW had made their decision before all this started. They just wanted to try to use the carrot to help XJ and 9E management to batter their pilot groups into working for less for the promise of growth and even more crappy jobs. Personally I hope that whoever gets these aircraft cannot get enough pilots to fly them......

Fat chance. People are lined up for miles and miles to "live the dream" The class rooms will continue to fill up at XJ and 9e and everywhere else. Even GoJets & Mesa are turning em away.

One thing I know for certain is that none of us will know until after the XJ vote.

I agree; based on how much longer the 9e talks will drag into the future, I'd think the carrot is more XJ then 9e. Plus, the provision to replace the Avros in the NWA pilot contract suggests that this "growth" favors XJ. Whatever, it doesn't change my view; even XJ mgmt's business plan is to live a long happy future with 49 Shiny Airplanes, Always Broken.

I hope XJ gets them so I can tell them to shove it when they recall me. Oh, and because they deserve something thrown their way.

Hey, to all furloughed XJer's that aren't coming back:

When you get your call, please tell them you will be in class, and then not show up.

Just remember what they have done for you.

They deserve it!

nice! then what you should do is say that you got stuck on your last vacation because your car broke down, and that you will be home in a week....or that someone needs emergency.....assistance in your family.....any excuse will do......so you do not lose your place in line for the next call out.....then do it again......i am not saying lie...... its just the first round of negotiations for your eventual return.....or not......yes they deserve all they will get from those they recall! besides, i need to get more hours......

Be careful how you tell them to shove their recall. We had a pilot go to fed ex and he quit by just not showing up for work at XJ. Much as this joke of a company deserved it, that is not the way to go. There is one statement on the PRIA form that asks the company whether they will rehire the candidate. This particular guys form was checked NO. Fed Ex was going to release him if it wasn't for S.K. that guy would be on the street. This company already F@#ked over you guys once, don't let them do it again.

as always, they can kiss my spanky.

Compass PAYRATES. Furloughed pilots electing to fly at SJet will start out at Year 2 pay as a Captain, Year 4 pay as a First Officer, or their actual NWA Year of Service if less. 1% annual raises beginning 6/1/2008.
YEARS OF SERVICE CAPT FO
1 $60.41 23.18
2 $62.41 33.68
3 $64.53 35.83
4 $66.52 37.29
5 $68.55 38.25
6 $70.65 39.18
7 $72.66 40.07
8 $74.88 40.88
9 $77.41 41.06
10 $80.01 41.18
11 $82.45 41.18
12 $85.01 41.18
13 $87.58 41.18
14 $90.24 41.18
15 $92.78 41.18
16 $95.16 41.18
17 $97.45 41.18
18 $99.73 41.18

Compare those rates to that of the XJ TA. I expect NWA will exercise the options to the CRJ, and convert the 175 to 195; they have the delivery slots available. For the E195, next year NWA is hiring, starting salary is $20,420.

Niel cohen is laughing all the way to the bank.
This is true, but the operating characteristics of the E195 aren't all that much better than the current DC-9; NWA has made some enhancements to them. The advantage is the E195 is slightly more comfortable and will probably feature TV's. The problem with lean operations though is the aircraft weight; less is more.

I thought that was for the pilots going to Compass? Why do you call Compass SJET? Or do you mean something else?

I noticed airline pilot central hasn't posted the new "D scale" for the E190 (i.e., DC-9 replacement) type airplanes flown at mainline. Is that what you mean by SJET? I have honestly lost track.

I was threatened with that when I left Mesaba. There is NO statement on the PRIA form that addresses that - its all drugs, alcohol, and accidents.

Background departments at any airline can ask if you are eligible for rehire. It is not part of the PRIA form. It is part of the background check when they talk to your previous employer. Usually this background check is contracted out to a professional agency who might talk to ALL of your previous employers (not just airlines).

Some airlines have a two strike policy. If two previous employers say you aren't eligible for rehire you will be doing the carpet dance to keep your job. Some companies might have a one strike policy (I'm not sure). It is best to leave on good terms.

The real question is how many of the 900 already exist, I've heard 5 - 20.

Many companies (Pinnacle included) have a no re-hire policy regardless of your employment history. The fact that your previous employer will not re-hire you means almost nothing to a prospective employer.

yeah the myth that...someone saw CRJ's painted in NWA colors....yeah i do not beleive it, no company can afford to stock planes....they can park ones they already own....even the manufacturers cannot hold that kind of dollar value for a customer. given the rate at which they can make them, i think deliveries could start almost immediately, to whoever gets them. And that is the big question......all signs point to XJ

1.why would NWA wait this long?
2.XJ never did give the hanger back to the airport, they just stopped using it!
3.I hear XJ just leased 13,000 more space at the spectrum training center....and the creditor committee has asked why and is protesting to the judge.
4. NWA told Mesaba not to dump its CRJ handling equipment
5. XJ is keeping and training CRJ pilots and instructors.
6. They are keeping the CRJ plane around......

MMMMm funny.

5. XJ is keeping and training CRJ pilots and instructors.

From an instructor: They started a new CRJ class this week. I didn't get the details, but I'm guessing it would be management-types.

I guess time will tell. Time being tomorrow?

Have any XJ furloughees got on at any "non-regional" airlines? (Frontier, AirTran, etc.) I heard Spirit was hiring FO's. I just started to apply to many of these.

You mean all the equiptment that XJ uses to service 9E CRJ's? Yeah....they better not dump all that stuff. The service is already bad enough.

Got my stuff in at Spirit, but I barely meet the mins and haven't heard from them (not surprised). And at maybe 20 hours per month, only about half of which are PIC (FAR 1 definition) in the 550 I'm not exactly moving up the resume pile.
