where will the CRJ's go and when will NWA announce where they will go? why would they wait so long? any ideas?
I hope that whoever gets these aircraft cannot get enough pilots to fly them......
One thing I know for certain is that none of us will know until after the XJ vote.
For the E195, next year NWA is hiring, starting salary is $20,420.
This is true, but the operating characteristics of the E195 aren't all that much better than the current DC-9; NWA has made some enhancements to them. The advantage is the E195 is slightly more comfortable and will probably feature TV's. The problem with lean operations though is the aircraft weight; less is more.Niel cohen is laughing all the way to the bank.
Compass PAYRATES. Furloughed pilots electing to fly at SJet will start out at Year 2 pay as a Captain, Year 4 pay as a First Officer, or their actual NWA Year of Service if less. 1% annual raises beginning 6/1/2008.
Be careful how you tell them to shove their recall. We had a pilot go to fed ex and he quit by just not showing up for work at XJ. Much as this joke of a company deserved it, that is not the way to go. There is one statement on the PRIA form that asks the company whether they will rehire the candidate. This particular guys form was checked NO.
Some airlines have a two strike policy. If two previous employers say you aren't eligible for rehire you will be doing the carpet dance to keep your job. Some companies might have a one strike policy (I'm not sure). It is best to leave on good terms.
The real question is how many of the 900 already exist, I've heard 5 - 20.
5. XJ is keeping and training CRJ pilots and instructors.
4. NWA told Mesaba not to dump its CRJ handling equipment
I guess time will tell. Time being tomorrow?
Have any XJ furloughees got on at any "non-regional" airlines? (Frontier, AirTran, etc.) I heard Spirit was hiring FO's. I just started to apply to many of these.
