How does the pay for reserve pilots break down at your airline?

At Lakes, we get 3.75 hours of credit per day. If you were to fly over 3.75 hours, you would be credited for that time flown. For example, if you fly 6 hours on your first reserve day for the month, your credit would already be at 2.25 hours above guarantee. If you only fly those 6 hours that month, you would get paid for 2.25 over guarantee.

I know at some other places, you wouldn't get a per-day credit, and if you fly less than guarantee for the month, then you automatically get bumped up to the guarantee. So the only way to get paid over guarantee is to actually fly over the guarantee for the month.

So which way does it work where you are? Our company is trying to screw us once again so we need this information from other carriers. Thanks.
 
Air Wisconsin reserve: Get paid guarantee unless you fly over it for the month. But anything you pick up on days off automatically goes over the top.

Same at Mesa.

To keep costs down, it seems reserves RARELY fly over the min bid 70 guarantee though. Open time pick up is nigh-impossible due to never having more than 2 days off in a row.

At CommutAir, reserve pays 4.75 hours per day, with a 76 hour guarantee per 4-week bid. But it was totaled up over the whole bid, not per individual day. So any overtime you make is paid on the last pay week of a bid.

In the example you gave, you wouldn't make any extra money at CommutAir; you'd make guarantee and that's it.

So the only way to get paid over guarantee is to actually fly over the guarantee for the month.
Yup; that's how CA is. To add insult to injury, they have "Reserve" and "Standby," and the only difference, as far as I can tell, is that "Standby" only credits you 3.0 hours. Nice, eh?

On the upside, if they do offer you a trip on a day off, it's paid over and above the guarantee. Reserve is bid as specific days, rather than having just a limited number of "hard" days off. So any work on those off days would be the extra money.

At CHQ/S5/RW you get 4/hr pay a day when you are called or block, whichever is greater. If sched. calls you on a day off for OT, you get 4/hr or block, whichever is greater OVER guarantee. If there is lots of OT, and they have plenty of reserve coverage, you are able to pick up the trips that fall within your reserve days, still getting paid 4/hr or block whichever is greater.

At PSA if you fly 72 hrs and sit hot reserve for the last week, you get paid Zinch for those Hot Reserve days.
Basically at PSA if you fly 72 hrs then consider yourself useless. Scheduling will not call you unless they need you to sit hot reserve. So you do not get paid any more if you sit on reserve if you have already met the 72 hrs.

Plus expect a lot of 14 hr duty days. And continue reserve....I am still looking for that in the contract but having trouble finding it.

1.5 years of reserve at PSA. Never ever upgrade program. If your man enough apply here! $350/week. Makes you wonder how management expects us to actually survive.
