"The Company and ALPA are set to resume mediated negotiations later this month. ASA received a call from the mediator today offering mediation dates, which were quickly accepted.
Meetings are scheduled for Nov. 28 and 29, and Dec. 6, 7 and 8. ASA looks forward to getting back to negotiations.
Watch ourASA for more information about progress toward a new contract.
Scott Hall"

I don't think anyone alse posted this news yet.

At this point everybody wants it done. But what I don't get is what is the real stinker in the deal? PBS? The fact that the super senior guys on the 700 don't get a big pay raise?

What I have seen doesn't seem to be enough to sink an airline over. PBS is coming, one way or another. Might as well swap it for something worthwhile.

Where are the meetings being held? Because I'm going to lock the whole lot of them in the room and throw away the key until they get a fair contact ironed out.

Orlando Disney Wilderness resort. Free admission to all the parks and sea world. Cha Ching!!!

:cool:Get R Done mgmnt. With Skywst getting their payraises, we should lock ours in pretty quick!!

Sweet more talks. After these are done we can get a new Strike Center update.

"The media room has just been finished we have been testing it on college and pro football!"

Then the company will send me a memo.

"To clear up some rumors... In this competative environment we could not offer more than a modest .25% raise. We also would offset the low pay by hiring hot flight attendants with low standards and loose morals!"

Then flight info will have 200 new threads:
1. ASA managment lied to me
2. Joe Merchant is Management
3. BURN THE PLACE DOWN
4. Pilots are quiting by the bus load
5. I saw 15 of our 50 seaters getting painted in SKYW colors
etc. etc... you know them better than me

Six months from now another round of talks then go to top. I just hope they do the talks in New York and MSP so the negotiation crew can hammer out christmas shopping. I would feel better if something got done.

Wow at least it's something. It would be so awesome to finnally get something done...or at least something would could vote on. Wether or not the company will move much though...I kinda doubt it, at least going off the past. I'm so tired of b!tching about the contract every week...I'd rather
b!tch about other things like the old hag flight attendant in the rear, the crappy ramp or how it burns when I urinate........

.

Mgmt. would just re-interpret the section of the contract defining "hot flight attendants". Every toothless chick in the southeast would get hired.

The Connection SPECIAL
November 16, 2006 Edition

The Connection is e-mailed to you periodically by the ASA ALPA MEC and
Communications Committee to share news of our union's activities and
accomplishments.

1. Back to the Table

1. Back to the Table

This week the National Mediation Board (NMB) contacted our Contract
Negotiating Committee (CNC) Chairman and offered the following dates for the
resumption of mediated negotiations between ASA management and ALPA:

Negotiations will recommence November 27-29 and December 6-8. The November
27 session will be between the mediator and ASA management only. Mediated
negotiations with both parties resume the following day, November 28.

The NMB said the dates are being offered as a result of the discussions held
earlier in November between the Board and both parties, and an evaluation by
the Board regarding potential movement should the parties reengage.

The mediator assigned to our property stated that November's sessions will
be conducted in Atlanta; December's meetings will take place in Charleston,
SC.

We are optimistic that adequate progress will be achieved once we resume in
mediated negotiations and we are very appreciative of the Board's
willingness to provide these dates.

I guess Disney will have to wait until after the holidays.

That should tell you something right there.

Watch it be a carbon copy offer of what Skywest pilots are offered. Hey, if nothing else, at least we pushed them into raising the bar for their pilot group......if we could only do the same with Mesa..............

Has anyone had a chance to view the new negotiations website. If you havent seen it yet, check your messages on ourASA for the new link.

Thoughts..comments..?

Could be that the old hag flight attendant in the rear (do you mean your rear?) and the burning while urinating are related!

SkyWest pilots got a payraise? I hear there's an offer, but t'aint seen it yet, nor voted on it...

Yea, so would every kankle carryin', pointed headed, fat bottomed girl from the cousin marryin' northeast would be right there arguein' for the front of the line, if they don't hurt their back and get an OJI first.

Lets get 2.00-3.00 dollars and mothly 401K and 12 days off a month 5,000.00 signing bonus and 2.3% pay raise a year for 4 yearsor a new contract is signed... and a duty rig and trip rig and I think everyone is happy

FOREMOST SCOPE!!!! no 100% pay cut !!!! ITS DONE !!!! that was hard !!!!

Your vote means ZERO. JA gives you what he wants you to have. Not what you want or deserve.

I don't see many ALPA carriers getting what we "want or deserve" either. At least they are saving 2% of their pay.

I'm glad to see they are getting back to the table. Maybe the current ALPA wants to get a deal done before someone else gets elected.

Don't want to work at an ALPA carrier, then leave and go to another airline. Otherwise, stop whining.

I guess you talking to me. That is a lame argument. I could say the same about some of the hard core ALPA people who hate ASA. If you don't like ASA, then leave and go to another airline - otherwise stop whining.

That's true, I am just saying the complaining doesn't help. If you want things to change, then change them, be involved.

Everyone on this board is quick to complain and blame, but no one on here seems to be doing anything except annoying people like me.

I'm actually an ALPA volunteer, I have picketed, I read everything ALPA sends me, and I talk to my reps. on a regular basis. I don't agree with everything management does, and I don't agree with everything ALPA does. A lot of people are quick to complain and blame the Skywest pilots, when there are plenty of ALPA pilots that are in the same race to the bottom. I participate in the process, but don't tell me that ALPA is the great solution and will solve the problem.

When I worked at ASA way back when Lynn Jackson was loved by all, there was a captain; I forget his name now, that I did upgrade on the ATR with, he looked just like Jay Lenno, anyway.. he used to call the F/A that ASA was hiring "Me Mo" which I guess was Southern for "Grandma".. They were actually quite hot in the late 90's, but the hiring boom from 1999-2001 brought in some real geazers..
