Hello -

I want to let you know about some exciting news:

ATP purchases fleet of 20 Diamond D-JETs,
selected by Diamond to perform D-JET training
Announced at AOPA Expo 2006 in Palm Springs, CA

“ATP announces its purchase of 20 Diamond D-JETs and 5 Diamond Flight Training Devices (FTDs) and the formation of a strategic training partnership with Diamond Aircraft, in which ATP will provide factory-approved initial type ratings and recurrent training in the Diamond D-JET at locations across the U.S.”

ATP also plans to integrate a D-JET type rating and nationwide jet cross-country experience into the Airline Career Pilot Program.

We wish you the best of success in achieving your career objectives.
Sincerely,
James

The author of that letter used to work at PDT?
Is that what you mean?

I did an ATP written with these clowns(a good service, actually) and I got this same email. This is where the SJS begins. And this will be the first visible step that I have seen toward the inevitable string of accidents that the VLJ market is going to bring to GA.

Let's see....any more acronyms I can use? Watch for the FAA relase a bunch of ACs regarding FT specific to these new A/C to keep stupid SOBs from busting their A's in these things. Man, that made me feel like a pilot.

Not really...It just seems that ATP may become a place to build not just quality multi time but also turbine PIC. All for 89,999 in just 90 days.

P.S. I got my multi commercial and MEI there. I felt it was a good program for the money. Maybe I should've taken them up on their offer to instruct there full time :D

If they really build all those micro-jets, it should put some pressure on the regional pilot market. Every single one one of those suckers will need a professional crew (135) or a professional baby-sitter (91).

If the insurance companies don't insist on it up front, they will after about a year!
