Hey guys/gals just curious what your health care cost are. Cost per month/year for single person, with one family member, family member with child, etc.....
Also do you have a co-pay that includes things like x-rays, labs etc or is it a deductible?

ASA just went to $189 a month (med/dental) for spouse and one child.

Here is some financial advice. Don't buy expensive plans. Put more liability on yourself, in terms of deductable being higher, and this will lower your monthly cost. I figure if I am worried about 5K deductable in the hospital then something has gone seriouly wrong and 5k will be the last of my worries. Take the extra money per month and drop it into a large growth mutual fund and you could make millions in the long term. Just make sure you has a nest egg saved up to cover some fo the 5K. Do the math it is really amazing when you decide to not give ALL to the corupt insurance people.

My spelling this morning sucks sorry I just don't care.

spelling aside, you hit a grand slam. Dead on point!

You would be surprised at how fast medical bills can add up...and it doesn't have to be something major.

My case: My chest was feeling tight. (Family history of heart problems) I decided to play it safe and have it checked out.

Several EKGs, overnight stay for observations, and a stress test w xrays. Fortunately, everything looked fine.

Grand Total: $11,000.

No Delay,
Glad everything worked out and you are ok, that's first.

It sounds alot like 'asabsmiss'. Seems like it is getting more and more abundant around here.

Again glad to hear everything is ok.

That's not too bad. For me at SKYW its...

$204.60 a month for medical ($10 co-pay Pacificare HMO family plan) plus $26.82 a month for dental (2 cleanings a year, 80% payment for anything else). They offer a PPO (UHC), but its expensive and it sucks. The cost of medical insurance has gone up quite a bit for us as well over the last few years. I'm paying over $50 more a month than I did only three years ago.

That was a for real one....

But I do agree with you...it seems there is a bug going around. that bug got me last week. Last month too, come to think of it.

December isn't looking good either.

At ASA we have the UHC and I agree, it's expensive and it stinks. And the 80% dental is only for what they agree to cover, which isn't much. Our copays are higher and to top it of it gets worse in '07 with deductibles that have to be met on top of that. ASA's attitude for benefits is give them the next best thing to nothing at all.

That's what happens when the backgound your VP of HR is airport ops and marketing.

The insurance is good, especially if something happens or you have a baby. Expensive yes, but pretty good compared to the real world.
