I have never heard a pilot say a bad thing about the 75. Now I know why. It is like a wet dream.

Our engines derated to 33k and 37k so I assume the pw2040 was just an uprated 2037.

I saw a climb rate of 20k per minute with a 20k fuel load and 3 pilots on a departure out of KADW. We departed over DCA and had to maintain 4000'. We leveled and the controler called and asked if we could give him a good rate to 170. We said we could be there in 2 min. He said I'd like to see that. We didn't miss it by much. He was pretty impressed.

:pimp:

wowowowo..that is crazy... for all those out there..is there a huge performance difference between the Pratt's and RRs? I know the RRs are more powerful but is it pretty noticeable?!

Great thread by the way...

You should have told him that he would have been really impressed if yu had started BOTH engines!
757 pilot's dream, "Uhh, could you give me your best rate?":D :D

this thread is refreshing
Nice to know there are guys/girls that still love airplanes, huh?
I'd like to ask some of the people here if they hated airplanes from day 1.
Don't get me wrong, I want to be paid, but a cubicle isn't even on the horizon in competition.

long, thin legs, and two big boobs hanging on her.

whats not to like?

That's why a good friend (may he RIP) called the 7-5 the skinny b***h with big t*ts and the 7-6 the fat b***h with big t*ts.....

It really is one of the best planes out there. Easy to land, easy to fly in the pattern. Very powerful and dam sexy.

Bye Bye--General Lee

So sexy that pilots are willing to fly it for less money.

Yeah, BK made us all "willing participants." I guess you would have voted yourself out of a job. Good for you dork. Our vote was the correct vote for the circumstances. But, you know better......

Never seen a 757 takeoff before. However, I have seen 757s LAUNCH themselves into the blue much like a rocket. Looks like a fun little racecar.

I love it but can't say that I've had much luck rolling on a 757-300. I'll have several chances to attempt this later in the month. Ditto on the 767-200 but I really love the 767-400. Only had a few landings in the big bird but love how it flies in the pattern. Plus you have that neat automatic takeoff and landing announcement button.

I'm now Capt. on the MD-80 at AA. But I had 5 years (F/O) and 6 Months (CA) on the 757 (and 767) at TWA. I miss that bird.

Sometimes we'll be departing very light on the -80 and the F/O will say: "Yee-ha, does this thing climb!"

My response: "Ya, it's climbing like a 757 at full gross weight!"
