SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Northwest Airlines (NWACQ : Northwest Airlines Corp Cl A
http://www.marketwatch.com/tools/quotes/news.asp?symb=NWACQ&siteId=yhoo

0.70, 0.00, -0.7% ) on Tuesday posted a third-quarter loss of $1.2 billion compared to a loss of $475 million a year ago. Excluding restructuring costs and other items, the bankrupt carrier would have reported a profit of $252 million, vs. a loss of $234 million a year earlier. Northwest reiterated that it expects to post a loss for the last four months of the year. For 2006, the company is looking for a "modest" adjusted profit on more than $12 billion in revenue.

Anyone hear about the NW pilots walking out on the NRT flight -- twice -- screwing the passengers -- for two days in a row. With attitudes like that it will be some years before NWA posts any kind of profit (NET). Unless of course the employees agree to more paycuts...

This is no big deal, it's all paper losses. Heck, if all goes well, NWA will emerge from bankruptcy next year and will be touted as one of those Legacy carriers much improved and better than LCCs. And after all the benefits, pay, and pensions are gone, the carrier will make a hefty rebound in the stock market, filling the pockets of many corporate executives just like UAUA and LCC. Great pattern, Delta will do the same...

And what's wrong with that?

Ya, I've got to give it to the Jetblue guy also. He's exactly on. Look at the past 2 years results. He's dead on. Don't dig, try to learn. He's correct. WE ALL MUST STEP UP AND DEMAND MORE, BEFORE THOSE MANAGEMENT IDIOTS GOUGE AGAIN AND CLAIM ALL OF THE EARNINGS!!!! EVERYONE,.

The way things are going, maybe JB will have the chance to do the same....Hey, if everyone is doing it....

Not bad. It looks like they posted a paper loss, but a cash profit. Looks like things are turning around for them.

Good for NWA, they are predicting an end of year profit. They seem to be on the right track. I hope they exit bankruptcy soon.
