To make a long story short, they are what is known as an alter-ego carrier...an additional airline created by an existing airline so management can take flying (and jobs) away from the established airline and give them to the alter-ego. This is desireable because the alter-ego employees are at the bottom of the longevity scal and are paid far less than the existing pilot group. Also, alter-ego pilots tend to be defective in some way (personality, flying skills, etc) and will work for less money just to get a job. This is NOT free-market...the managers had a contract with the existing pilot group, but use this technique to get around the contract. It basically allows them to dispose of their existing pilots, or force them back to first-year wages.

Alter-ego pilots are roundly despised in the industry for eagerly helping management scr*w their fellow pilots. Lists of these people are circulated, and most will never be employed at another carrier (hopefully). They are not technically scabs, but the same general idea applies.

Lots of regionals are hiring, don't go to gojets.

You have been flying corporate for 3 years? Why would you want to go to a regional at all. It is not easy getting into corporate departments because of insurance minimums. They usually require type ratings and time in type. You state aprrox 800 hours and 3 years of flying?

without the time to properly respond, search this website (and many others)... you would likely be ill advised to go there... they've got a stigma that will probably never go away... they're effectively a portion of trans states airlines that the company used as a wedge to effect a massively inferior contract, encouraging TSA pilots to bridge over (backstab) and get a leg up on their fellow pilots... TSA mgmt has been using gestapo type actions to fire pilots who voice dissent about it and countless pilots at TSA have had their career progression there snuffed out due to g0jets.

This is a bad company, founded on rotten principles.

They screwed their co-workers (they all work for Trans States Holdings) and can't seem to imagine that the rug they pulled out from under their co-workers will be pulled out from under them if they ever evolve a spine.

I and many others will not accept g0jet jumpseaters, and it's tough to look their pilots in the face and take them seriously. For your sake, I'd look elsewhere - as crappy as this industry is, there are FAR better options out there.

I don't have strong opinions about many things, but I have a very strong opinion about this. Please do the research and decide for yourself.

There have been a few odd inquiries about GoJet lately. Anyone wondering if its some management person looking for insight into pilots thoughts on thier company? Perhaps using this info as a strategic tool?

Also, to the original poster - there is a list of pilots who work or have worked for GoJets. It's on a website whose sole purpose is to detest and inform pilots of the GoJets situation.

If you do decide to work there, know that this list gets frequently updated and passed around from what I know. Suposedly to prevent you from getting hired down the line elsewhere.
