I thought if one side rejected arbitration that the 30 day cooling-off period starts? Is there one more step?
This was not a formal offer of arbitration. It just sounds like a supposal to me by the NMB.
ALPA wrote a letter to the NMB requesting a proffer of arbitration. The NMB then asked management to respond. After receiving management's response, the NMB will discuss and chose to either offer or deny a proffer. If either party denies the proffer, the 30-day cooling off period starts.

:laugh:Can't WAIT to see 150 plus airplanes SITTING!!!! hahahaha It will be AWESOME!
What is so AWESOME about 150 planes sitting and 1700 pilots out of work?

Because mgmnt THINKS they have us....when in fact, we are released, they will miraculasly(spelling....long day) sign a deal with us in the 12th hour! WE hold all the cards right now. WE OWN ATL and big D can't take us parking our aircraft. The pressure will be on Dumb@ss BL to get R done...and honestly, I can't WAIT to see that Sack O @hit come a beggin for a deal!
Come fly the line for a few years. No one cares if this place shuts the doors tomorrow.
Doesn't 80% of the ATL DCI feed have to be ASA per contract? If so, I'd say that's something.

NO ONE has been able to verify this for me. Is that 80% ASA OR Skywest inc. out of Atlanta? From what I understand this is also if we meet certain performance goals.

Chill out.

BL has stated, and it has been seen on paper last year, that it is 80%.
I disagree- there are many pilots that care. I'm one of them- If people truly are THAT miserable, then quit. It's a job and not a hostage chrisis. Nothing makes a trip longer and more miserable than having to listen to a whiner try and complain about how bad it is here.......Just a trend I've noticed though- most of the WHINERS did nothing more than flight instruct. In short, this place it what it is, so deal with it or punch out!
I think the number of pilots that care is in the minority now. What fun would it be to leave now; I'm waiting to watch this ship sink to the bottom. I just hope I get to see BL's face at the end.
That's the dumbest post I've read on here yet- we don't have $hi*.......We shut down tomorrow and I'll see you in the unemployment line the day after. We WILL be replaced and *NEWSFLASH* it won't be by a company that pays it's pilots more than ASA. Nor will the performance problems go away- IT'S THE WORKFORCE STUPID!!!!! Want to see how quickly 1700 (and shrinking) pilots can be replaced- Hold my beer and watch this................Sounds like somebody really likes reading and buying off on 100% of the ALPA coolaid. OPEN YOUR EYES AND THINK FOR YOURSELF!!!!!
Really and WHO is it that will replace 800 plus departures a day without causing complete liquidation at Big D? No one has the airplanes or pilots READY to take over all of that! V, you sound a LOT like mgmnt? Do you think we should just "turn and run?" Sorry, I have more respect for myself than that... and thank goodness 92% of our pilots do also...Looks like I'm not the ONLY ONE who thinks this way. Get back to work BL, the contract needs to get done!
Yea, sure, I'm management and I've got nothing to do other than troll through threads seeking to infiltrate the ASA pilot group so that I can impliment my plan for world regional domination. I'm also trying to sell my new contract proposal- I think people will be willing to pay 50 dollars an hour to fly my fleet of CRJ200 aircraft......
Come on dude- give me a break. I'm a realist, not bouncing around in some fuzzy la-la land with hopes and dreams of being everyone's favorite regional airline and pilot group. I consider myself to be one of the 8% that VOTED to have common sense.
I VOTED NO!!!!!!!!
It still amazes me the number of people I fly with that actually think there will be another vote prior to our walk out. Seems alot of people didn't understand the concept that they were placing 100% of the decision to stike with the MEC and their judgement alone.
Oh, and as for our replacement- Delta mainline would put a massive ding in it. Oh but their union......They think we took their flying anyways in 2001. Most of them would probably look at this as a chance to regain some ground. Plus, aren't there 60 something Expressjet Aircraft floating around out there anyways???
