Me too, I am all excited thinking about future opportunities like Delat or United. All this talk of the big guys recalling got me curious. What were their (AA, UAL, DL, etc.) minimums last time they hired? Is it likely they will keep the same mins when hiring resumes? Congrats to all those getting called back!!!

Depends on the supply of pilots, we are not likely to see a change in current mins anytime this year. However, next year should be interesting considering many mainline carriers' off the street hiring will be into regional jets. As always if you know someone, you can get in earlier.
We don't have any RJs at NWA but we will hire into the 9 next year... With 90% bypass rate, it might be next summer... I can't speak for the others legacy carriers but all will be recalling I bet...
No RJ's at NW? Is there another name for the DC-9?
The only requirement is that you KNOW someone. Just look at CAL.
Mins at the majors? .. ie/ white males 6000TT and multiple type ratings. ,, .........minorities/women.... commercial pilots license /500hrs.

Are the majors big into nepotism, IE your daddy is a 777 captain etc?
Is that sarcasm or truth? On this board I can never tell.
Yep, sorry. More than a few guys hired at CAL had family there. Granted, alot of them (not all) were pretty qualified. If you have no PIC, how else will they look at you? SOMETHING has to seperate you from the 15,000 apps on file.
The other thing, most of the guys I fly with at Xjet that are going over to a CAL seem to have ATLEAST 10 recommendations. Thats 10. Doesn't mean that you need 10 or 10 will get you in the door, some go with much less. Some have an important flight ops person rec them, ect.
Since when is the DC9 an RJ?
I'd rather ride in the back of a DC9-10 than anywhere on the POS EMB145 I attempt to get to work on now! (ORF-STL). Need I say more?
I saw the sarcasm meter pegged on the earlier post!!
But for the XJT guys that are going Dojet is right, most i fly with that are going, have gone, or are interviewing all had/have lots of rec letters and most have at least 5000+tt with well over the 1000 turbine pic.
Hey DoJet have you decided if you are going to apply for the Charter Gig?
I'll remeber that next time I see you askin if you'll be able to get on.....lol We fly the crappy 140 on that route, there would be no problem with the 145 but thats AA's ultimate wisdom!
Although to STL you will be riding on Trans States and I don't know if that is going on over there.
