Zip vs Tango

Just wondering what the difference is between Air Canada Tango and Air Canada Zip? Got to hand it to them, they have a sense of humor painting the 73's in those ugly colors.

Zip is a separate subsidiary owned by Air Canada (100%) they only fly B737 and were set up to compete against WestJet. The pilots from Air Canada allowed the company under their contract and agreed to a small cut in pay and increased hours if they bid over to work at Zip. So therefore, in order to work at Zip you must be hired by Air Canada. Tango is a brand within Air Canada (no separate company) same pilots and F/A, no change in working conditions. Tango was set up to compete against charter companies....cheaper flight cost, no meals (unless you buy them). They specifically were set up to target Canada 3000 however, Canada 3000 went bankrupt within days of Tango starting. Jazz is the regional airline flying Dash 8 and RJ's. They were purchased by Air Canada a long time ago and are a separate subsidiary owned 100% by Air Canada however completely separate employees (ie: you apply to Jazz to work there)
