Someone has purchased the ex-Zantop Electras, and has starting to put them back into flying condition. They are down at hangar two where they used to live. I hear he is taking them to Alasaka, or SA, or Africa

Those Electra's are like the Energizer Bunny.......they keep going and going and going.:D

Do they need any crews to ferry them to Alaska?

don't know much about anything except seeing them move in front of Hangar two. If I hear anything I post it here.

L-188's

I am going to put my money on Air Spray in Canada. I think they are buying up all the last Electra's in the world for fire fighting. They took Reeves. I do not know who got the one in Tamiami though. It belonged to Trans Air Cargo and had DHL titles on it. I think there are only four operators left of the type.
Air Atlantique, Amerer Air Some place in Mexico and Air Spray. Zantop put some money into those planes years agao with updated avionics so they might be worth some time. I would love to get a ride on one as well. Dad flew them for Saturn/Trans International/Transamerica in the 70's out of YIP and other places.

Yea Zantop put TCAS in to the L-188's, but the rumor is; when the EGPWS compliance time came up it was too expensive for those old airplanes and they elected to go out of business.
