Also, rumor says the 1st CE-560E+ (Encore+) is due in November.
I saw one in the GSO service center a few weeks ago; looked like a pretty nice setup up front. There were all sorts of black boxes bolted to the floor in the back of the thing, and "Experimental" on the door.
I asked the Cessna pilot about the boxes, and he said they were testing different FADEC software on the engines. Nice!![]()

How is the system different up front? What's new about it?

Encore = XL with different cabin.
Huh?
It also has no APU, a honey bucket instead of an external lav, different fuselage, different engines...... The XL's wing is derived from the Ultra's, and the tail sections are indeed are the same, but otherwise it has more in common with the VII than the Ultra.
Think Systems ... for simplicity I think of them as the same but with different people containers.
I've been looking around and I'm wondering if anyone has a breakdown how many A/C are in each fleet. I'm mostly just curious. I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Thanks!
Matt
I see your point on that.As I said (in my edit), they feel similar in a lot of ways. The fuselage is where I spend an inordinate amount of time, so that's kinda what I think of as "the airplane." But i see where you're coming from.
I'd imagine it would have been the same type rating had it not been for that stupid moving tail...
