The NJA vs CAL thread is being hijacked by this question but no one is answering it. What is XO's pay scale. I'm not dropping flame bait. I truly hope everyone can have higher pay than NJA, because we would eventually get a raise too. Boats, tide, you know the saying.

Is 1st year capt at XO Jet based on years of service with the company?

I hear everyone talking about a new XO Jet package. Is this package pay and bases? Is there more?
 
Not a payscale per say yet, but a payrate. The longevity scale is TBA any day now.

as of now day rate x 205 days = expected pay

Adds up to your 90k and 50k approximations. I'll admit with the extra 62 days per year worked than the NJA 7/7 its not a direct comparison to your base rate. We're all anxiously awaiting the new 'deal' as it should include longevity raises and some vacation language. The 5 year NJA CA pay comparison is a stretch, but the fact is there is a lot of growth and a quick upgrade. The payscale as it is today was a temporary bandaid for the last year which is being addressed appropriately. Believe me we all want long term predictability and to work less around here with compensation package to build a career upon.


You can bet there is attention being given to the NJA IBB. The folks running the place want people hang their hat here for a career. Growing pains are a natural part of a company doing what we are.
 
Where do the 62 days come from?

I think he meant 205 days (9/7 schedule) minus 182 days (7/7 schedule) = 23 days.

or, 193 days (17/15 schedule) but paid at 205 days equaling 11 days per year more than the 7/7 schedule.

205*450 = 92,250 first year captain pay.

Sorry I mistyped. 7/7=182 vs 205. But then factor in 14 days vacation at year one with NJA. I don't know the schedule that vacation increases for you from 2, 3 and 4 weeks. You also have sick days established. My point was 90k year 1 versus 90k year 5 is not an equal comparison if you factor schedule and vacation.

I was just talking about straight salary and NJ's current pay scale. NJ has many excellant benefits in addition to pay. In my opinion, salary is what is deposited into your bank account, and vacation is a QOL issue. I'm looking forward to having it too, but it is not going to affect my pay.

XO is turning heads in the industry, but don't think for one second that your safe for the long term. You are an expense and will always be an expense. Just don't let your guard down, its business, nothing more.

They are on a day rate, meaning annual wages are determined by days worked. 205 can be expected and more, but it is not a salary. If you worked 365 you would make 164k, but that is not your salary. I think it is only fair to illustrate the differences in days worked when making the yearly pay comparison. For example, if you worked a 14/7 and made 90k would you still compare it to NJA 5yr CA pay?
 
Anyway,

The 250 and 450 are FO/CA day rates. Multiply by appx 205 and you have annual earnings. Fast growth, good people and leadership. Longevity coming down the pipe. That's whats going on. Search the forums if you want other specifics.

Well, I'll agree to disagree. I think you are confusing pay and schedule. I have a friend who works 4 or 5 days a month as corporate pilot for about 100K per year. Is his salary/pay five times higher than ours? He certainly can't afford to buy a nicer house or car. Neither can the 5 yr NJ capt. They both just have better schedules.

When I talk about pay, I mean the stuff you put in the bank each year. Also, I have never misrepresented our schedule.
