any thoughts? I have an idea of the answer but I want to know what the panel thinks!!!

I think they are biased against pilots all right - those with only 600 hours.

;)

Sounds like somone didn't interview worth a sh1t, now he's searching for excuses.

What is a minority?

Mabye he is wondering if he has an upper hand taking into account his race....either way.....MOR-ON

Are 600 hour pilots "minorities"?

We are all minorities then...and, even if we aren't so unique now, at one point we all had 600 hours!

I'm not too sure if they're racially biased, but I would assume that people of the Latino persuasion ie. Spanish speaking would get a little preference in the interview process. In my interview group about a month ago both of the guys who were there with Ms. Daniel were of Spanish decent, and during the X-Jet dog and pony show Dawn put on she told us that CO wanted to gain a lot of ground in Mexico and S. America. Personaly I think ExpressJet is a great company(at least the employees) but has a lousy hiring process. Then again I'm sure it's hard to attract qualified individuals willing to work for the wage that X-jet has to offer (for now at least).

Good luck to all in their careers or search for one,

TJ

Disclaimer: I interviewed at Express a month ago. While I was not impressed with the interview process, nor did I get the impression that the interviewers genuinely wanted any of us to work there, they were professional and polite. I'll admit that I did not have a very good interview, but I don't blame anyone but myself for that. Perhaps in 3 months I'll re-apply if I don't already have a job somewhere else.

Are you saying you're not a minority at Aloha? ;)

I'm as much a minority as you are!

No I did not apply to xjt...It just seems they tend to be biased and pc with number hiring!!! Just wanted to see the panels response!!! I quess the folks on this forum are scared to say what they feel...I have a feeling someone on this forum knows what I am talking about?!!!

that hurt my feelings...

OK...the VP of HR is a black female. The Manager of HR is a hispanic female. The Flight Ops Recruiter is female.

And as far as I know we have an ethnic and cultural demographic "better" than most airlines in terms of diversity.

So you must be saying they are biased against white males.

They probably are. Hell ... I am, too. I can't stand those white-bread, chicken-$hit, trailer-trash muthaf@kerz. Think I'd have a shot at XJ in a few hundred more hours?

(Wait ... I AM one of those white-bread, chicken-$hit, trailer-trash muthaf@kerz. Oh well ... nevermind.)
