Hi all,

Which airline would you chose, if OFFERED the job by both?
I live in NYC, and would like to stay here at least for near future, that's why I am asking about this two airlines.

Thanks very much for any input.

depends on what rumors prove true and which are a load.

CHQ could be a very good place to be.

XJT's junior base is EWR. CHQ might have a LGA base too. I think CHQ will get a lot more DL flying in the NE (BOS) if ASA doesn't get it. I would think that XJT would be the choice--if EWR is close to your home. Go for XJT.

Bye Bye--General Lee;)

We have a LGA base here at CHQ. It is one of our most junior F/O bases so you could be a line holder in no time.

CHQ is rumored to start flying more for DL out of JFK with a possible base forthcoming...but it's just a rumor, I wouldn't base a decision on it. I do know DL just gave the green light to a huge expansion at JFK to be finished in '06.
Good luck, they both are good options.

Well I am probably as qualified as anyone to answer the question as I have worked for both. I was at Coex for 10 months before the furlough and have been at CHQ for 15 months.
First off let me say this, both airlines are CLASS ACTS! They both have wonderful people working there and you should be thrilled to have a job offer at either of them. Understand this as well, any comments I make will be based on my experience alone, and yours may differ. Things may change dramatically at XJT with their new contract when it gets signed. Disclaimers aside, there is no comparison, CHQ blows XJT away as a place to work. The QOL is excellent, the schedules are very very good (I am p1ssed if I don't get at least 16 days off and every weekend off, I haven't been p1ssed in a while), for me the choice of bases works out well. I could go on and on, but you can find all the pros and cons with a search of this forum. That is not to say that XJT is a bad place, it is not! As a matter of fact I had planned all along on accepting my recall, it just turned out that CHQ was better for my situation. As for the future, WHO KNOWS. I think XJT and CHQ will be fantastic places to spend time at. I know that I miss all my friends at XJT greatly and wish them the BEST of luck with their new contract. You will not go wrong with either of them given the choice. Therefore, TAKE THE FIRST CLASS DATE!
Good Luck,
KnightRider

More q's...

Hey kntrdr,

Thank for the info.
What about training, jumpseating home from training, reserve, bases, upgrades, pay, etc.

BTW, where are you based at?

Best regards.

Hey CFINY

How did you get an interview at CHQ??

I have tried (and tried and tried) and can't get a call???

d.fitz,

Keep trying. Send them your resume and update it once a month. I have a friend who did this and interviewed yesterday. Funny thing is, Rosa called him THIS MORNING with a Feb. 27th class date! He didn't expect the call or the class date so soon and he will be in the March 5 class.

He told me Rosa said the pool is now empty and they will be doing a lot of hiring indefinitely.

Keep trying. It's a great place to work and it's only gonna get better.

Hi d.fitz

I have NOT applyed to either one yet.
As of now I have little gig flying LR24 every now and then, but I am trying to get as much info as I can about CHQ and XJT, and apply in near future...

Best regards to all.

Hi d.fitz

Hey man, congrats on an interview!!!

BTW, how long ago have you sent them your resume, and how, via e-mail, fax, or someone walk it in?

BEST OF LUCK!!!
