its not uncommon for FOs to be placed at any one of the bases. Its all a matter of where they need people over the next few weeks following your training.

But kudos for ending your sentence with a preposition...all hope is not lost for.

I hear that new hires go to the new bases like SAT, ONT, and LAX. There is a TDY for SAT and LAX.

I was in a Feb class and for some reason got sent to CLE.....still trying to figure that one out since its a shrinking senior base. Anyway with the addition of 8 planes in LAX I'd bet that most of the classes in the next few months will be west coast bound.

My guess would be newhires are going to ONT, or LAX but on the last senority list the most junior guys were in ONT,CLE,SAT,and EWR. The most junior guys on the last preliminary bid that posted today were in the same places. But in April there were a little more than 250 newhires on the list without base assignments, I'm sure that number has grown as we've hired more people.

The straight answer is: no one really knows, LAX and ONT will most likley get newhires to stop the TDYing but they don't need all 250-300 (or however many are not base assigned right now)... The company is just going to stick the people were we are the shortest. You also have to take into account the FO's are upgrading from ALL bases. My guess is in the not so distant future newhires will be able to get into pretty much any base (after LAX and ONT) are topped off. Right now CA's can't get into CLE,IAH,and EWR but thats not your question/concern.

You went to CLE because most of the people at the bottom of the list leave, just like I'm sure you did. It's senior at the top of the list but the bottom is always rotating because newhires get placed there then bid out.
