I'm interested in moving to Wyoming after I complete college and get some hours. Anyone know of any cargo companies that fly into Wyoming? I know of one, KeyLime. From what I hear, I don't want to look there.
I grew up in Worland and really want to move back. Sioux Falls is just too flat. avbug, you know what I'm talking about, I believe that you had a stay in Greybull for awhile?
Unless you haven't updated your profile in awhile, you're still a ways away from meeting 135 mins. I think you're on the right track though - flying freight is one of the quickest ways to build turbine PIC time. Just out of curiosity, where did you hear the bad poop on Key Lime?
Wyoming was home for 25 years, and if I could turn up decent work there, I'll go back. No people = great place to live, but nobody to pay for aviation. Key Lime flies from Denver to several Wyo towns, check out other posts on KL. Star West in Evanston used to run a couple of 310's out of BJC hauling checks, but that may be all gone now.
Like mentioned above, you need at least 135 mins for most anything, but you might keep an eye on CJ Systems http://12.108.124.229/cjpublic/cjdefault.asp (home office at AGC), they operate a C90 in Casper for Wyoming Lifeflight. It's run as a 2-pilot op, and their right-seater mins aren't very high. Problem is, right seat pay is low, and as air ambulance, they don't log many hours per year.
Yea, I have a couple of hours to catch up with. With full time work, and full time college, and a wife, it's hard to have any students.
I want to go back to Wyoming somewhere, Worland doesn't have to be the place to live. I introduced my wife to Wyoming a couple of years ago and she fell in love with the mountains, hiking, fishing, and HUNTING! I think I'll keep her...
I have been watching the boards here about KeyLime. Just rumor I suppose.
Or...if ya don't mind living near the WY-MT border, Ameriflight out of Billings may be an option. Larger operation than any of the other outfits mentioned here.
Heck, it's even possible to commute out of Sheridan to Billings on Big Sky now.
I've seen a PA31 freight operator at Jackson using the callsign "Sunbird" or something like that. I know they do Big Piney-Jackson, but that is as far as my knowledge of Wyoming goes.
