For those interested in a solid 4 year degree program consider Auburn University. Auburn is located 110 miles southwest of Atlanta. An excellent Aviation Management Program. It is part of the College of Business. The university has graduates at all airlines, both mgt. and non mgt. positions. The best way to consider is to set up a visit to AU.

The university owns and operates KAUO.

Unless they have changed things extremely recently, they have too many students trying to utilize too few aircraft. Last I heard, they have something like 50+ students that need access to a multi-engine aircraft and the only multi they have is one Dutchess. I have several friends that have attended there Aviation Dept that have taken on average two semesters to pick up there private when the course layout maps for completion in one semester.

Some of you are wondering how I can back up this statement. I lived there for 2 years and I return to visit roughly every other weekend from where I'm at now. Trust me. I've seen the program first hand. It's not bad, but there are better alternatives out there.

Everyone I know has moved over to Aviation Management as there major and are doing there flight training at AirVentures in LaGrange, GA; about 20 minutes north of Auburn.

Don't get me wrong. Auburn is a GREAT school! I loved living there and I still love going to visit. They have a GREAT Aviation Mgmt program. Just be careful of conducting your actual hands-on training through the university.

I will go towards Auburn's defense though. They are in the process of upgrading there flight dept. They are getting a few new planes in, and I think they are building a new training center within the next few years.

That link is boring. Check out the one in the cargo section. I actually thought it was a legitimate ERAU link.
