Man that thing's scary. I just boarded up my backyard windows, and stuffed all the junk in the house.

Friday will be interesting fo' sho'.
 
Is it just me or does that satellite image look totally fake? Look at the lack of other wx over Cuba and Florida, and at how uniformly green every little speck of land is. It looks retouched or color enhanced in some way.

Many satellite photos put out by NOAA are in fact "color enhanced", to make them coherent to the average viewer. They even state that in their web site. The photographic image of Frances is real, and the land masses depicted are also real in the sense of their relative size and proximity to the wx
