I currently work for another carrier ( the one with the RED and Blue chicken) and am looking to make a switch. I'm very disgusted where I am now. Morale is at an all time low. Nothing seems to be improving very soon, or at all for that matter. I've been here almost a year and am till on reserve with no end in sight. It could seriously be two years before I'm off reserve!! I was just wondering what you ExpressJet guys think. My only concern with ExpressJet is the current aircraft situation. I know, I've read on here that you're keeping your aircraft but I also don't want to make a switch right before I get a nice raise and get furoloughed. Do you think your reserve time and upgrade times will increase because of all thats going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know a guy who is here now and he made the same move after being at Eagle for 2 years i think. maybe he will post on here.

I made the move to XJET after 2plus years at PSA. I love it here so far. I live in Chicago and turned down the interview at American Eagle to come here, even though at Eagle I would be able to get to Chicago eventually. I would rather be here! You have no idea how much greener the grass is.

"I've been here almost a year"

Wow a whole year. You have done your time at Eagle and need to move on to the next step. Maybe you will have enough time to get your ATP now.

WOW!! Morale at an all time low? Boy, I guess all of the rest of us don't know how good we have it huh? Well, if it get's too hard for you just know that you'll always have a shoulder to cry on here.

Seriously, go get a real job that pays real money. Have a great life away from flying.

Go based on where you want to be the rest of your airline career...not based on where you think the quickest upgrades are right now or how quicklly you will be off of reserve right now. You will be much happier.

The fact that an airline has quick upgrades right now does not mean that you will be able to benefit. A friend of mine was hired two years ago at Eagle and he had a line within two months. Apparently this has changed.

Right now SkyWest is the current whore of the industry and is therefore gaining all of the regional flying....has good upgrade prospects...have pilots off of reserve very quicklly...but that will change...when the next regional pilot group undercuts SkyWest by agreeing to fly CRJ-900's for $50/hour with the promise of quicker upgrades for their pilots.

Or worse...SkyWest will just keep driving down wages as they have been.

Go to Express Jet if you like their contract better (it is better than Eagles), if you like their domiciles better, or whatever.

But do NOT go to Express Jet because you think you will have a line sooner or you will upgrade quicker because nobody really knows what is going to happen.

At least Skywest has Block or better and Profit sharing. Nope I don't work for them either.

Let me guess you work for an outstanding operation like Mesa?

I know, didn't say that they didn't. The message was directed as the moron that was bashing Skywest. XJT is cool in my eyes, I didn't get hired by them , but they are still a good company.
