Dfw
AirTran announced they are negotiating for that new incentive pkg at DFW. Does this mean that SWA is also in negotiations?
I thought the pkg was nothing special, but these two do not like each other, so you may see SWA get involved. It would make sense for no other reason than SWA does not want to get shut out of the process if they fail to get the Wrong Amendment repealed. That would be a real blow to AAI if SWA moved their whole operation over to DFW and DAL was closed down.
If I were AAI, I'd grab 10 gates at the new International Terminal and strike up code shares with numerous carriers. There will be 29 gates at the new terminal and it will be hard to believe that AMR can fill anymore than 7 or 8 gates.
