I haven't seen the scoop for Atlanta posted here so I'll tell everyone a bit for what its worth. I've had the worst time trying to get a teaching job because I don't have the CFII. I thought if I could get it that things would be easier and not only that I'd get instrument current and better qualified all at the same time. Anyhow...I went to WIA (Workforce Improvement Act) orientation on Monday. I qualified through low income (less than $34,000 a year) I think. There are other ways to qualify, if you get laid off, downsizing etc. They will pay $5000 of your training costs and that includes everything you need. So I'm twenty years out of flying IFR to any extent so I figure it would take me $1000 to get instrument current again and then ATP will give you the MEI, MEII, CFII for $1995. So I'd be 2 grand shy of what was available but here is the catch. I must provide a letter from some flight school that says they will hire me as a result of this training. That will be hard to come by but I'm going out looking. I also have to provide "count them" (8) classifieds of folks looking for CFI's to show there is a demand. I'm not sure how I will come up with that. In any case some of you if there are any of you here who might use these funds could get a type rating or other training if you could provide that letter. $5000 will buy a lot in the way of training. I also had to fill out some paperwork and provide proof of residence/income for the last 6 months etc. No big deal. Paperwork maybe took 30 mins. Anyhow hope this helps someone or at least gives those with questions some additional info.

edit....I don't mean supply the letter for me....I mean you would need to get one for you. Just to clarify.....
