Hi all,

I have been doing alot of research on the WIA program since I was laid off from my corporate job, (Ohio) but I still have a few questions. I am trying to get my Hawker Type Rating

1.) Is it true that you have to have a job lined up already to get the funds? A few pilots and a few people I have contacted told me this.

2.) Ohio has really made me jump through alot of hoops so far. Where I live (Cayahoga County) has a fairly long program to get the cash. Is there any way to expedite the process?

3.) Can you apply in any state? I have heard that some states are more liberal than others.

Any help that someone can give me would be greatly appreciated. I am kind of stuck right now. Anyone that has gone through the program in Ohio would be especially helpful.

You require a letter from a employer stating that upon completion of training, a company will hire you.

Yes, the paperwork is a pain and there are no shortcuts.
