So you come across this old article and think there is some major revelation here. This guy is no genius. These same points as to why Skywest bought ExpressJet have been rehashed on FI before by us geniuses.

To employ more cowboy boot-wearing pilots?

Raises hand along with about 40% of the guys I fly with in Houston. You can't tell they are boots unless you really stare at them or my pants slide up sitting in some positions... They keep my feet warm in the winter and in fashion year round. Nice boots are classy and professional imo. Lawyers, office workers... Many professionals wear them every day to work where I'm from! :D Why not focus on the punks wearing backpacks and listening to Ipods in the terminal...;)

Yes I'm being serious.

You're not being serious. Maybe it's fashionable if you're flying IAH to Lubbock all day. You know who wears cowboy boots? Cowboys and rodeo clowns. Oh...and put that fu##ing dip away, nobody needs to smell that garbage in the cockpit.

Boots keep your feet warm and dry like NO other shoe will. Ropers are VERY comfortable as well.

I agree with Texan, focus on the emo's wearing 2" lugged Doc Martins, spikey gelled Oakley holders and backpacks.

I don't understand why one set of people who don't comply with the uniform standards get to dodge and point at another set of people who don't.

I wear Doc's because they keep my feet warm and dry <shrug>. If you want to wear cowboy boots...go ahead.

WTF is up with you and cowboy boots? Seriously, I want to know. Don't wear em. Just curious.

He's probably a typical left-wing, northeast liberal snob who thinks anyone from anywhere else is beneath him. He's been on an anti-boot tirade and referred to people from Texas a "retards" in another thread.

If you don't like boots, don't wear them and STFU! One of these days he'll make some wisecrack and someone will shove their boot up his ass sideways.

Um..

Isn't that pretty much exactly the same kind of attitude as this:

Someone is tyring to hype his blog, no answers or insight just re-states questions. Don't waste your time clicking the link.

Boots are clean, classy, and sharp. Funny how I've not had anyone with enough spine comment out loud, and within earshot of me, about how stupid they look. Cowards, cowards, cowards. I will say though, that I cannot stand combat boots in uniform. Seriously, it's insane! You see MANY professionals in ropers, but for some strange reason, nobody wears combat boots into a courtroom or a high level business meeting.
