Right off the top of my head - American Eagle (I think), Continental Express, Air Wisconsin, ASA, Mesa, Skywest, and Horizon. I'm sure there are others but those are the only ones that I can think of currently...

You can also assume that all the small commuter/regionals are hiring as well, they are like farm clubs for the larger ones mentioned above. "The unwritten flow-through agreement."

Many people I know are having trouble scheduling the interviews around each other.

That being said, I would do your research, because there are some to aviod.

Mesaba has been consistently running classes anywhere from 3-10 newhires/month
Do you have any info on applying? I tried the website but the jobs link didn't lead to anything but a few pictures.

Mesaba is fine, our company is solid, lots of money in the bank. Your not going to get furloughed. ala (US AIR and UNITED commuters or any one else in CH11) But we have not grown in a long time and there is no growth anywhere in sight, none.

I have been here for 3month shy of 4years and was awarded a Reserve line this month. Upgrade? The term we use is "forever FO's". It is running over 5 yrs AUG 99. And getting longer every day.

If you live in or around one of our hubs DTW, MSP, MEM, CVG then I would say yes good place to come. (you can sit Reserve at home) if you are going to try and commute it is not worth it. We will grow some day next year in 3 yrs no one knows.

We hire into both the SF-340 and the Avro Jet.

Currently we have a NOV 29th class for 12 newhires posted. 6-jet /6-prop

Your not going to get furloughed

I am sure a bunch of other pilots at companies thought this.

I have a buddy that just interviewed at Eagle last week, was offered the job, then they just called up and took back the job offer.

Looks like what with all the AA furloughs and the flowbacks to follow, the door has just shut there...

can you elaborate?

i am 472/28 "wunderkid". :)
a true pdt guy could answer this better than this quasi-pdt guy,

but my understanding was that previously, they were hiring at 500/50 mins from mostly UND but i believe also ERAU and similar 'institutions'

don't know if thats still the case

During my annual inquisition (recurrent training) last month it was reported by the instructor that PDT is planning to hire 200-250 pilots in the next year. Many of the recent new hires have been very inexperienced pilots in the 500/50 range. I was recently flying with a new F/O and he happily stated that on that day he actually passed 700 hours of total time.

I believe to get the chance to interview at that experience level one has to be a graduate of UND, Perdue, or Southern Illinois University.

A couple of things to consider, is PDT a great place to work, not any more. However if you wish to get a great deal of flying experience in a short amount of time this is a place where it will happen. Unfortunately our future is tied directly to USAirways which is very uncertain at the present. We may all be looking for other employment very soon.
