Where's The Moderators?

We have several people crossing the line on acceptable behavior in these threads. People using extremely foul language (or re-arranging the letters of said foul language), and basically making shovanistic statements regarding the women that talk on this board, and rather than attacking the issues that are being discussed, attacking the people for having a different opinion.

What do we gotta do to get the moderators to step up and take control of this a little? This is supposed to be a place where professionals talk about their industry, not a playground where people call each other out and spit filthy names and rude comments at each other.

How about a little moderation?

Let me also ask you this? Why do you constantly edit your messages after you type them? When I read the first draft of this response, it was something totally different!

It's called using the "Report Bad Post" button... It's the little white triangle with the red border and the black exclamation point in it that is right below the profile of the poster on every post on the board, and yes, all 760,296 of them...

Moderators do NOT read every post, not even every thread... We can't and honestly have no interest in doing so... We rely on the membership to report the bad posts and then we can moderate those posts as necessary...

I love how people think the Moderators have nothing better to do with their days than to read through a thousand posts a day to make sure everyone is playing nice...

One persons' unacceptable behavior is anothers' freedom of expression. I do agree that the personal attacks are sometimes mean-spirited and come across as intolerant of dissenting views. But, hey, there are all types who post on this board. The language? C'mon; get real! If some of the words offend your sensibilities (even when masked), I suggest you need to find another venue for your posting needs. This is a pilot board, for gods sake! We ain't a bunch of boy scouts!!! Personally, I would hate to see this site become a stale, no-nonsense, politically correct and humorless venue!

This whole forum is a bunch of crap as it currently exists. It's supposed to be an "Aviation Interview Board," with

Discussion pertaining to Aviation Interviews ONLY. All other infomation should be on the AMB.

Instead, it's mostly a bunch of union or company nonsense, or as Tex put it: a "public forum" for "professionals to lend credibility to their cause." Their cause?! If Tex Ass wants to go off on someone about poor grammar, he should consider his reading skills before elucidating on the purpose of this forum.

While I can only imagine the moderators are too busy to read every post, and shouldn't be expected to, a quick glance at post titles is all it takes to realize this forum is generally abused.

Oh, and in the interest of fairness, I realize there's no "Fractional" section in the AMB. Maybe something the moderators could look into?
